Adaptive cruise control and deer

Anyone had any experiences with adaptive CC and an obstacle blocking the path? Aka deer, branch, something running accross the road. I am curious to know if it stops for deer or T-Boning another car.

ACC I believe will only apply 25% braking power at the max and won't bring you to a complete stop. It may slow you down some for a deer, smaller objects it won't detect. I wouldn't count on the system to save you from an accident. The ACC radar will only detect larger objects that are in the conical radar view emitted from the Jeep as well. It won't catch everything, especially closer objects unless they are more center to the Jeep. So a close deer darting from the side last minute, ACC won't help much.

At those speeds why would anyone ever want to be in CC ...

Like mongoose stated, it wont help much for objects moving across your path as the ACC view is directed forward ( same lane )

Hey Hey Hey dont judge me LOL. I20 going to TX from SC is a long straight road where you can see for miles in all directions. 100 was the flow of traffic.

It is kind of wierd to exit off the interstate with the ACC on and the truck brake and come to a complete stop by itself at the end of the off ramp. Of course there needs to be a car in front of you!

I've never tried to come to a complete stop with the ACC set. I've been in a similar situation like you are saying, but the EVIC will flash a brake warning once the speed drops below around 20 mph (don't remember the exact speed). I know the owners manual says that it will not bring you to a complete stop.

The acc brings the car down to 5 mph until it warns that its off. It will not come to a stop.
