Jeep Was Sold.....To Hurricane Sandy :(

Hello guys and gals,

As many of you have seen on the forum that I have been trying to sell my 2006 Jeep SRT8 over the last few months...

Well, 2 weeks ago my Fiance and I drove from my parents place in Long Island to her apartment in Hoboken, NJ where we thought it would be safe (her apartment is in a low-flood risk area).

Long story short, after Hurricane Sandy hit Hoboken we walked from my apartment to her garage which is attached to her building and unfortunately the Jeep was under 4 Ft. of water

It was heart breaking to see the vehicle in that condition. I would have much rather sold it to someone who would truly appreciate the vehicle as well as the tasteful upgrades I made to it.

There were 17 other vehicles in that garage ranging from Lexus ISFs to a 30 year old Mercedes SL which the owner was saving to restore....quite devastating.

Came to an agreement with the insurance company and after some research on both mine and their end, we agreed on a number that was higher than what I was originally asking for the car.

I would normally post pictures of the damaged vehicle but my apartment in Hoboken is still without power/internet but once it is I will share a few - they are very sad though.

I will not be hopping into another JGC SRT8 at the moment, but the Fiance and I said that in the future, if we have the monies and ability to do so, we will have another one in our garage.

For now we have agreed on getting a CPO BMW 335 2 door coupe (Prob 08 or 09).

As a side note, New Jersey, Manhattan, and Parts of Long Island and Staten Island were ravaged by Hurricane Sandy - please do anything you can to help out the victims - even if it is just a quick prayer - I lost a vehicle but some people lost their entire homes and belongings.

Anyways, this forum has always treated me well and thank you for the vast knowledge I have gained form reading countless posts and viewing tons of pictures - I will not be a stranger.

Sorry to hear. Like you said the loss of your car is nothing compared to what a lot of people lost.
