i been on a number of car audio forums in the past few days and got a number of mixed answers....
my plans is to get either MOREL Elate or Morel Virtus 3ways for my front setup
it comes with 6.5" , 3" , 1" speakers when i ask ppl on the car audio forums they say if i put the 6.5 in the door and the 3 in the dash and have the tweeter on the inside mirror trim on the door it will sound funny !?!?!?!?!?!
is this true? has anyone done this? any pictures would help to show what others done aswell
thanks for the help guys
would it affect anything having the woofer and mid in the door and the tweet on the mirror cover?
From my understanding and I could be wrong, your optimum setup would be to have all three speakers in the door at strategic arrangement of each other. Dont you just love it on those audio forums when the members tell you your plan sucks but dont offer insight as to a better way to do it?

I ran Dynaudio 3 ways for about 4 years until I put a cage in my Jeep. Killed my dash speaker loaction. I had like Ekaz said. Woofers in door, 3" mids down by my feet in the kick panel, and tweets up in dash. Sounded freakin' unreal. The 3" mids wouldn't fit in the bash because of depth. You would have had to cut and hack to get them to fit in there. I have since gone to JL Audio ZR series 2 ways. I do miss the 3 ways but these speakers kick some ass too. My suggestion too is keep the crossovers as close to the components as you can. You 3" may fit in the dash but I dunno. The Dynaudio mid was pretty fat. Good luck bro.......

when u had the mid in the kick did you just cut a hole and point it in the direction it mounted or did you have it pointed in a certain direction like towards the middle of roof ?
any chance u got a picture to show
thanks for all the help guys

I never got around to doing it. Basically, you're building a little box/enclosure for the woofer in the door and have it molded into the door panel instead of using the whole door as your box/enclosure. You will get a great deal more mid bass that way. It's not the most cost effective way though.
