The hope is that it will absolutely squash it. We spend so much damn money on trying to monitor and stop the flow of weed coming into and through our state that it would make sense for the state to want to help reduce that by just making themselves the dealers/tax recipients.

I can, sniff sniff, smell change in the air. Lol!

Not that kind of happy, though! I wish I was. I hold Coast Guard licenses that allow me to operate extremely large vessels with huge amounts of hazardous cargos. Therefore I myself cannot chief it up. However, the clear benefits the Mary Jane gal could do for us both monetarily and environmentally are huge! Bio diesel and other fuel production alone from this product could be INSANE! Now lets talk less incarceration and prosecution rate's and costs? Dont even get me started on the tax influx and legitimate employment benefits.

Excited? Yes I am very excited about this. You Marcus, are seeing a revolution of sorts forming right in front of your very eyes in your own home state! Interesting stuff, isnt it?

Couldn't agree with you more, Jim. I've seen too many of my friends or other people involved in a dangerous incident due to alcohol abuse.

The point people miss is that the amount of DUI's resulting from Jane will likely fluctuate little to none once sales and posession are legalized.
IMO its better that the gov't profits from the sales/regulation of distributin and consumer use instead of the dealers. Subsequently I also believe its best that they profit from the abuse . ie) DUI's, Illegal distribution and over possesion.

Instead of handing out criminal records and jail time as they have in the past, slap a big phat fine associated with over possesion, illegal distribution and abuse. *Use that money to benefit at a state level*

Personally I believe it should be completely legalized as a natural product of the earth.. But knowing that will never happen, Ive accepted a new view as expressed above.

just my 0.02

Drug dealers aren't happy about this I can assure you that. They will lose customers and hopefully go out of business.
