I installed Diablosport catch can yesterday, had the same problem. I couldn't bother going to buy washers and a longer bolt so I decided to cut the cover. It was a bit of mess around, not perfect, but finally it turned out ok, not too bad after all! Lol
It's very good actually, only thing is when it comes to a hot day then it couldn't perform its best. It sucks lots of air in but it's the heat from the engine on hot weather that matters. I'm gonna get a heat shield installed and see how it goes.
Is it really that big of a deal? I understand that there are prime conditions, and cold air is essential for a cold air intake to operate properly, but I really don't think they would have engineered this intake without engine heat in mind.
It's the best looking intake out right now, but this heat issue is the only reason why I'm hesitant
^^^^ the heat issue is what made me get the bwoody. Not that worried about hydrolocking because all our streets drain to the passenger side of the road and the intake is on the drivers side, unlike the wk1. If I used my windsheild sprayers I may have had a different thought but I just pulled the bottle out and disconnected fluid level sensor and pump
My jeep was built in dec 2011 so every thing fit ok as the spacer that came in the package was just right. As far as a CAI ill be running all stock this time. I hope to have one of the fastest pure stock WK2 with a few old school tricks lol. There will be 4 WK2 out there testing and we will see just how the modded ones work vs the stocker. Im even leaving in the pinch in the right exhaust pipe right after the muffler lol.
