I've been trying to find one for quite some time. I've only seen one in person here in Central Texas. Then I saw on trader a 2007 was close by. I only meant to drive down to Round Rock for a test drive and check it out in person. I owned a 93 Cherokee Sport and loved it. So I'm not new to Jeep but I am new to SRT's. After the test drive I had to try and get the deal done. Next day got the call to come back to sign and drive. Threw my stuff in the back and took it straight to Shreveport, LA to gamble for the night. So I got to have a little fun with it on the highway. Now I'm enjoying it but at the same time fixing some things that the previous non-driving owners messed up. But it's kool and it's not the first time I've had to do that.
Good to be a part of the site. I have always appreciated the info I've gathered over the years on many different forums. I usually try to save a buck by doing things myself. So all the info I find is much appreciated.
Black was my first color choice all the way. I would've went with silver if the deal was good. I had to get some floormats, cargo security cover, and the pedal covers because they were missing. All the wheels have curb rash...So trying to figure out the best way to address that issue. Previous owner put smaller width tires on all four so need to replace those in the future. The left rear window trim is in need of replacement, as well as the rear bumper strip.
I will hopefully be successful in addressing the brake squeal and some rattles and noises here and there. I'm OCD as hell and these things will bug the shite out of me until I fix the issues. So other than the wheels and tires, it's minor things I guess. I guess it's a good thing I talked the dealer down over a grand...LOL
Get you a set of Factory Repro 20s with Vredesteins all the way around or find a local shop that can fix your stock wheels, carbon fiber rear bumper strip to replace the missing one! As far as brakes go, those are squealers from the get go, get a good set of rotors along with some nice pads and make sure you bed them in right and the noise and dusting will cut down substantially. If you need any of this stuff just let us know and we'll be glad to help!
