Question Is there a way to deactivate the Tire Pressure System ?

Hi,

I just upgraded my 09 SRT with 22" Lexani Wheels - and of course - now the Tire Pressure Monitor System shows up that there is now pressure in the tires ... (becouse of the lack of sensors).

Is there a possibility to deactivate completly the TPMS System so that i won´t get the error message ?

Somehow ?

Thanks !

Take care
Thomas

Why didnt you just put the sensors back in?? I think theres a way that the dealer can shut it off with starscan. Better post up pics of the 22's or get banned lol

it seems not good to take it off...i know it's mandated by law...better to put it back.. you might not get paid by insurance company if accident happens due to tire deflation

Its mandated by law that all manufacturers put them on the car, that doesn't mean that you have to leave it there. Back in the day, I learned to cheat the ford system by building a galvanized pipe that all four sensors would fit in, weld a valve stem into it, and pressure it up to 40 pounds, toss it under the back seat and go.

And, assuming he doesn't want to walk, he should have gotten run flats so I doubt he'll wreck due to underinflation
