On the way back from Dubai today to Abu Dhabi, I caught up a Mustand GT on the highway.

We stayed together at 60 MPH until he hit a section of the highway where it is known that the radars are set to catch you only if you exceed 100MPH.

As soon as we entered the fast section, we both hit it at 60MPH and he slowly gained on me (maybe a 2mph differential) until 110 MPH. We were 3 in the car, he was alone.

His car was very loud and I have no idea if it was modded or not.

Is this to be expected?

Cheers

JF

is dad driving a XLR or XLR-V? It's hard to imagine that the Jeep couldn't stomp a regular XLR??

Don't know if you have ever seen on of those small and to be honest almost gay looking BMW 135i but yesterday this little thing was faster than me between 40 to 70MPH.

Pretty embarrassing to be honest

Pulled up to a new 135i yesterday (plates were RNEGADE?)-- slightly wet out since it had rained a little an hour or so before. Two teens in the car, driver revs the engine so I looked over and smiled. Light went green and I was GONE. He did hook up some but by the time I was 3 car lengths ahead he gave up.

I found this on Edmunds:
The 2008 BMW 135i coupe gets to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 5.3 seconds ... To give this speed some perspective, the new 2008 BMW M3 is just 0.5 second and 1.3 seconds quicker to the same marks respectively. Even more important, this 135i coupe will rip from 50-75 mph in 4th gear in just 5.0 seconds.

Moral here -- catch them at stoplights and stay away from them at highway speeds
