I found two older similar threads but vehicles involved where not '08 specific IIRC, and according to the dealer the '08's have a different TPM System (not sure).
So I decided to start a new fresh thread about it.
OK so I’ll summarize it from the start.
I had to get rear passenger tire fix do to a nail in it, so I had it patched (not plugged).
Next day I started having this error message on the EVIC “Check TPM system”
I still get the correct PSI reading on all 4 tires.
Took it to dealer and they couldn’t fix via StarScan.
There’s a wireless tool they take to each tire to report data back to StarScan but the tool was only good for years up to ’07, they didn’t have one for ’08 (bummer).
So they decided to replace both sensors, the one inside the tire and the one on the wheel well behind the tire, called Wireless Control Module (WCM).
They road tested it and said that it was fixed.
Got home (25 miles away), had the jeep off for about an hour then got back on the jeep and same error message came back on the EVIC… It always happens about a minute or two after the jeep is started, one ding sound followed by “Check TPM system” and then it shows the tire PSI screen, then I had to hit the step button for it to go away and everything is back to normal until the next time I start up the jeep again.
Anyone else experienced this same error with theirs and found a solution?
I think the dealer ran out of options to figure this one out.
Any ideas what I should try next?
