Well the title doesn't explain my true feelings but, apparently it's possible for our (stock) jeeps to hit 100 km/h in less than 60 feet..? That's the first part, and my "stock" exhaust broke the noise bylaw.. Just watch out boys cuz I guess they are really enforcing the noise thing now...

Is that a joke?

Welcome to Canada...

Where abouts do you live OP ? - I run open headers here in vacouver and have never had a noise violation ticket. Just a handful of tint tickets. I'm going to assume you are going to appeal this one ?

What part?

I drove through Canada once with my SRT8 and was lucky. Entered in around Buffalo and exited around Port Huron. The speed limits seemed slow to me. I pretty much went what the speed limit sign said, but in mph instead of kph lol. Fun little trip.

I prefer not to specify, ill pm you if you wanna know just incase there is an officer subscribed to this thread. Normally I would just pay it, but I was not speeding and I got called a fool by the officer giving me the ticket, and another officer came to my window, noticing that I had put my keys on the roof, stating that only people who steal cars and get in lots of high speed chases do such a thing. There is a noise bylaw here. But I have a stock exhaust so technically I cant be charged. And yes I will be fighting both of these.

Good call with the lack of info. Sounds like these cops had a hard on for making a case out of you. best of luck ! im sure if your story stays true you wont have an issues with getting these infractions dropped.
just make sure you have your ducks in a row before going to court.

Not luck, just hoping that the courts will see in my eyes what went on, my insurance premiums are the thing I'm worried most about

Well me and Craig are meeting up tonight at mooseys so I can grab a part off of him, swing by and I'll tell ya the story haha , again don't wanna post anything I can give them to prove guilt. Lol

But I will pm you if you can't make it/don't wanna drive hahaha

Well the way the ticket was given and where they "caught" me, the story that they provide has to be 100% true, like down to seconds and feet, otherwise it will be voided. I think there were multiple reasons for getting in a fit about it, having someone my age actually owning one of these probably gave off the rich spoiled kid impression, and I think she was training someone . Also they called another officer to the scene... Not sure why.

Where is that place? I'm already balls deep in google getting information.

Yeah is that some sort of free law advice office? Or like a crown agency to plea bargain stuff?

He must have caught you launching. I think they have to prove the noise violation with a noise meter. I doubt even retro-king could hit that speed in 60 feet lol. if they estimated your speed you can get your points back for sure. There is a lot of speed enforcement in this city. Sorry that you got busted.

Well the circumstances really void the ticket she wrote anyways haha ill pay, but I'll go down kicking and screaming before I get demerits.

I guess the ticket should be voided gents, my miss pointed something out when I showed her it. The officer wrote the "estimated" speed I was going in the "Speed Limit" section, and left the "Recorded Speed" blank... Any ideas? Hahaha. Also, she got the speed limit wrong cuz I was actually in a 70 zone instead of an 80 zone, which is what I'm supposedly being charged with..

On Alberta tickets anything below the charge line (just above where the speed is indicated) doesn't matter. They could have written nothing and it wouldn't matter. Officer notes on the back of the police copy is what they go by in court. Go the first appearance center. That's what they're there for. My guess is they will toss the noise ticket if you plead guilty to the speed. They probably won't just drop the speed without a trial. In Alberta, crown prosecutors and traffic court commissioners are unable to not assign demerits, that is the juristiction of the registry. In other words, you can't plead guilty/pay a speeding ticket and not have demerits assigned. It would have to be changed to a different charge that doesn't have demerits assigned.
Feel free to PM me if you have a question about the process.

Get your evidence and take it to court. With that many mistakes the prosecuter will throw it out
