WK2 SRT8 Troubleshooting / Problems Discussion / Dealer ServiceIf you are having some problems with your WK2 SRT8 and need assistance in troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem, this is the proper place to discuss it. Were you treated fairly or poorly at a dealer? Warranty issues? Let us know.
My last ride was a Ford Raptor. The Raptor forum has a long thread about The Clunk in that vehicle. Turned out to be drive shaft binding issue. TSB was issued and problem was addressed.
So far no clunk in my SRT8 (only 300 miles on it, knocking on wood).

When it's time to circle the wagons, make sure all the rifles are pointing out.
I have a clunk that is REALLY a BANG when full acceleration from a dead stop in AUTO ... does not do this in SPORT or TRACK mode. I can occasionally feel a light clunk pulling away from a stop sign at a normal pace (not aggressively) and an occasional light clunk when paddle shifting down at "approaching a stop sign" speeds ... slowing. While not a show stopper, it's different than my buddy's which has no clunk at all.
My dealer will be looking at this on my 6K check up.
Checkmate make sure you have all the latest software in the engine, trans, dtcm and electronic limited slip module. Any one of those could affect it. There was a tsb for a driveline clunk in the rear. I think it called for a replacement bushing if I remember correctly.

ALL of my driveline clunking was solved by completely replacing my rear diff internals. been smooth ever since. I do NOT agree that it is a normal sound. the awd lexus GX doesnt do this...the awd nissan gtr doesnt clunk...the awd audi Qs dont do not clunk....so i wouldnt blame it on the jeeps awd components. its just poor craftsmanship.
