I went in Saturday morning to have my state inspection (visual only) done. For the past 2 years I had my inspection done at the Jeep dealership, but since I moved out of that county I decided to go with a local place.
So, it was some Valvoline Express Care place I decided to try. Walked in and told them I just needed an inspection. He said it's Saturday so we take cash only?

Strange but OK.
I pulled around back and waited about 10 minutes. This employee walks up and says "Your windows are too dark. I need to measure them." OK. Sure thing Hoss. He comes back with a meter and puts it on the window. Then he says I'm lucky because the limit is 25% and I'm right at 25%. He grumbles "I guess it's legal".

I'm then asked to start the Jeep. He immediately says "Do you have cats on here? That exhaust is too loud to be legal." I simply shake my head and say it's completely 100% factory Jeep exhaust. His response was "I really doubt that" and walks away.

At this point I'm irritated and just leave. What a pain.
This was all strange to me. I figured living out in the country inspection would be less of a hassle. When I lived in the city we had emissions testing, out here it's visual only. Not sure how I could pass at the Jeep dealer so easy, yet these idiots out here give me so much greif.
Guess I need to find another location.
