I think it's incredible that a 60,000 jeep even gets mentioned as competition with BMW M cars and Mercedes AMGs that all cost 100,000 plus.

You're absolutely right Joel..... but I think that one of the qualities that made the Jeep so appealing was its price, and what you got for your dollar. Granted, the WK1 is 'raw' when compared to the WK2, but when you compare the WK1 SRT8 to its luxury counterparts, it was an unmatched bargain. Hell, are there even any other domestic performance SUVs in the running? So then you have the advent of the WK2 SRT8, and that gap between Jeep and its higher-priced counterparts was narrowed.... at a $15k hike in base price. I too, agree that Jeep has come a long way, as its overall increase in quality makes it a much more appealing vehicle. But for those people who are in the market of a TRUE performance SUV but not looking to spend $60k, that continuing price hike of the WK2 takes away pretty much their only option.

Trust me, if I could afford one, I'd have one of the first '14 WK2 SRT8s sitting in my garage when available.... no matter the price!

My question remains why the f keep playing around with led lights, new leather and what not instead of just adding some F/I so we can rip those m and amg cars a new one.

I have to agree...

I like the improvements made.
The only thing lacking is HP.

You complain it costs too much now. How much more would you complain when they add a blower and charge 5-10k more! Buy this truck, add your own sc or turbo of choice for 10k and then spank the Germans. ;-)

The wheels on the new '14 are indeed horrible. This along with price could be
a deal breaker.

At least you have wheel options now. But then that goes back to your price gripe. Guess you can't win this time around. Keep it moving I suppose.

I'm thinking at these prices, my 2012 may not drop to much!!! My opinion on the 2014, is its a nice refresh look, a little more Mercedes looking especially from the rear tail lights. The interior is slightly upgraded along with the 8 speed. Is it enough for me to get rid of my 2012? Nope!!! As far as the wheels go, they should've offer the new style wheel in 21in option along with the standard 2012-13 wheels. I'll wait for the WK3 or at least the SC version!
