Hey guys,

This is a great thread because it has answered one of the questions I have about tuning. I just bought a 426 short block from PWR, and I'm wondering if I need to pull the stock tune on my jeep. Or, does it not matter? Since the engine would be different than stock, would they have to build me a tune from scratch anyways?

Thanks guys.

You will still need the original tune as its serial number locked to your vehicles computer.

Do not convert backup tune file. Send as is to tuner and go from there.

Store that file on your computer too! Don't ever ever lose it. Leave a copy in your email too just incase a computer crashes you'll still have that original tune file.

Yes, you are all set to send it to your tuner of choice.
