After an exhausted search for a cat back system I bit the bullet and went with a solo system. Having had a borla S on a previous SRT Jeep and loving it, I was afraid the solo system would not measure up to the aggressiveness of the borla s. I searched and searched to find comparisons or someone that had used both or heard both only to find one person. I asked Solo for a comparison and they did not. After lots of questions I decided to go with the Solo system largely due to the great customer service from Steve..
I put the system on last night, total of 1 hour and had to fix a flat spot from UPS dropping the box. Took the jeep for a test ride and WOW..
So for anyone looking for a comparison between the Solo and Borla s here is my .02
Price: The Solo cost less so it is the clear winner on price
Looks: I like the tips on the solo and the interesting design.
Quality: equal
Initial start up sound: The borla is louder
At idle sound: the borla is louder
Tone: they are about the same very deep tone
Normal driving: hard to pick a winner but the solo is like a finely tuned instrument, very deep, smooth and loud. both will set off alarms in a parking garage
WOT: again hard to pick a winner and ditto on the above..
Overall the systems are very comparable, I think the exhaust notes on the Solo, they are more refined in a good way and will wake up my neighbors if I felt inclined. The price difference makes it a no brainer and the customer service at Solo was the best I have ever experienced.
I'm thinking about the solo. I cant take the drone with the Borla anymore..its becoming a pain in the ass!
I've heard the solo on a buddies cam'd SRT Challenger and it sounds great which got me wondering how it would sound with a built motor and a D1? If you switch to the solo please post exhaust video's?
