Trinity fan setup with 180 thermo

I have set my fans up with the trinity on the (LOW MPH) ranging from 190 deg LS -195deg MS and 200 deg for HS. The thing is they wont kick on until around 218 deg while the truck is in Park....is this the way it should be?

Yes, when I mentioned this to Johan, he said it did appear there was a separate setting controlling fan speed when the vehicle is not moving. I do not have an ETA as to when/if this can be added to the tool.

Thanks

This is for a WK2 tuning. It may be different than your WK1 tuning. I haven't really played with fan settings for either, but I'm sure the WK1 fans are fully adjustable. The WK2 tuning isn't as robust option wise yet as its fairly new.

I'm having issues in stop and go traffic. hit 220 before I cranked the heat to "HI" and fans to full.

I'm not pleased about it because I have all the fan settings adjusted and even the higher speed settings about 2F lower then what others are running.

there's no reason it should be hitting over 200 in my opinion with a 180 t-stat. On the highway I can cruise all day at about 179-185 tops. (steep hills)

thinking I'll set it back to stock fan settings and watch to see how it goes. I've run it that way before no problem, but didn't watch to see stop and go traffic and the effects. (not in stop and go very often. I've had the truck for about 2 and a half months and today was my first time in serious stop and go. Doesn't help that I was downtown Reno. All the lights seem to be always red.)

* update.

I tested the temperatures both with the modified tune and stock tune while sitting at a stop.

both times the engine made it to 221F and then the heavy duty fan kicked in and dropped the temperature.

The diablo tune is definitely missing a no speed setting for heavy stop and go traffic.

I suspect today is really the first time I noticed it because I'm not used to being up at 4500' Cooling is much more effective at home (700-1200')

there are a few things in this tune that's making it feel like it was rushed, and I'm feeling it more and more every day with a few things. I'm hoping an update comes soon which addresses the 2012s. So at this point I would say, the 2013 guys who are being impatient, it's probably for the best that you can't get the tunes yet as there's still things to sort out with them before they go on your trucks.

* that being said, I'm still happy with the purchase, it's fun Just needs more R&D
