Anyone have experience with a powder coater in the Baltimore area?
So I tried to go the plastidip route with my wheels. For the most part they held up good, but the lip (where the wheel goes down and meets the tire) just wasn't holding the dip good enough and it began to peel up/fray a bit. I contemplated taking them off and doing them again, but I wouldn't want it to become a frequent hassle.
I now know that I love the look of my wheels in black, so I would be comfortable going with a more permanent solution. So I am thinking about having the wheels powder coated. I have only gotten one quote and it was from the guy that fixed the crack in my wheel. He quoted me at $150 a wheel and said if I made an appointment far enough in advance I could bring the truck in first thing in the morning, and he'd have them all refinished in black by night time. Pretty good deal, but I wanted to see if there are better deals out there, and more importantly, if someone has actual first hand experience with a particular company before moving forward.
Thanks!
