No, but it helps. I've always liked them, but feel like having one makes us more knowledgeable and able to give better service and support. I drive the GC SRT8, and previously I had a Challenger 392, Challenger R/T and 300 SRT (all are gone now). My hubby (SRT8U) has a Charger SRT supercharged, so we really needed a Jeep to round out the line up. I'm loving this thing!!
