08 Front Bumper needs replacing :-(

Been driving for 14 years and have NEVER been in an accident......until tonight :-( I was in stop and go traffic (nothing new here in Chicagoland) and looked at the radio for a split second and gave the SUV ahead of me a little 5-10mph love tap. I'm extremely embarrassed right now and still in shock that I let something like this happen!! I'm usually an extremely careful and overly aware driver. Super bummed out right now.

I'll post pics tomorrow AM in the daylight. My Jeeps an 08 and I have the 1-piece bumper. I did a search and couldn't come up with a concrete answer. How much will JUST the bumper run me? Anywhere that I can purchase one for good price? Gonna call my paint/body guy tomorrow and get a quote. THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!

About $800 for a new bumper. Call your insurance. All that money you pay to them why not put it to use. Unless your deductible is thru the roof.

Pittz, my deductible $500. If the bumper is $800, my paint guy will probably quote me about $1,000 (family friend). I'd rather not make a claim, see my insurance rates go up and have this minor minor accident on a carfax/auto check reports. Just not worth it!

Side note......the lady I bumped into just so happened to have been rear ended 3 days prior and already has a claim in for that accident. So she told me not to worry and she let me go. She could have easily called the cops and gotten another report, which would have meant I would have gotten a ticket. Just trying to look on the bright side because this could have been worse :-)

Sorry for poor quality, no sun out today. Feeling better today because it could have been much worse, and fortunate the lady let me off the hook. I called my body guy, $850 for OEM bumper and $300 for paint/labor ($1,150). He's also going to color match the door moldings and the black plastic roof rails while he's at it (Freebie). Figured I'd get that done while I'm at it. LOL. Trying to look at the positives of this crappy situation I got myself into :-)

Seriously though, where can I get a 2008 OEM one-piece bumper for cheap?!?! Not seeing them on e-bay. Anybody got some leads?!?!

**I noticed the grille shell was a little loose and just hoping it can be snapped back into place. He'll probably repaint that too for blending purposes**

Sorry to hear what happened. Sent you a PM on where to get cheap new bumper. A little more than eBay but brand new not remanufactured.

Dam that sucks. I remember when my dad hit a deer 100 yards from our house in his e46 M3. He looked at the bright side of it. All new paint job on hood and bumper. No more rock chips.
