I played this game for many years, buying the best toys out there. The problem is that the RADAR/LASERS detectors and jammers, are the same companies that make the RADAR and LASER guns used by police. They market the latest and greatest technologies against one another to the public and law enforcement, and then bank huge profits by selling both sides of their technology. The whole thing is a huge racket, based on a cat & mouse that will never end.

I have become happy buying 1-3 year old technology and just accepting the fact that there are some systems out there I am not going to be able to defeat, and 90% of them I will either detect or jam.

On an unrelated note, I had the unique opportunity to own a Russian Demirs Broad-spectrum jamming system. Well, I shouldn't say "own", how about... "posses". Unofortubately the control module was missing and only the only function was on-off. That thing was insanely evil, not only would it short out my digital watch if you stood near it, but it would also interrupt every cellphone call for blocks. Highly illegal by every standard the FCC would ever dream of, but... this was government work

So with that experience in mind, the only way to "win" the game, is not to play by the rules. If you purchase commercially available systems, you're doing nothing but lining the pocket of the people who are ensuring their own job security. Look into homeade or black market IR jamming systems, RF active broadband transmitters, and miniature EM pulse devices. Range gate jamming is the most effective against RADAR.

I totally agree. That said, since I don't have immediate access to an awesome illegal jammer that would probably get me jail time up here I have been exceptionally lucky to get my stuff second hand at a discount. Next best thing.

Owning a detector for laser is useless, was my main point.

Thankfully my area is broke and can't afford the new technology, lol.

It's true about the area you live in. Budgets for law enforcement are tight everywhere. I rarely see laser here. I figure my setup will be fine for a good long while yet.

Calgary is 100% lidar. Radar detector in the city limits is useless. Laser Shifters are the best option here. And they have been proven to work here so far.
