WK1 General Performance DiscussionIf you are planning on modifying your Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with a performance enhancing modification, this is the section to post about it.
Thanks for the tip, I plan to bolt the engine to the transmission then try to lift it as much as possible. Not sure how much it will come up, but I am thinking if I can get even a few inches the driver side will be much easier,

When I go to install this thing back in, trans is coming out and im dropping the subframe. I will install the engine with headers on to the subframe and bolt it down, pull out engine/trans harness and hook it all up. Bolt the trans back on to the engine and lower the whole body down on to the subframe. I have a hoist so its gonna be pretty easy.
more pics, and for all of you haters I have about 12 hours into my heads. My valve hardware was a bit late so I had to do them myself. They should be back from the shop friday I hope getting new springs, moly retainers and my valve guides cut for the high lift cam and a valve job. Intake was smoothed down and painted with dupli color perfect match, and I did my head lights also.
at this point I would have the engine in and starting to go back together. but the shop doing my heads must of forgotten about them, I called 4 days after they stated they would be done and he said, Oh I forgot to call you. So i assumed they were done, but they did not even start them yet. So I called 4 times yesterday and twice already today and as it sounds they are doing them today.. So I do not know why he would call. Just a weaksause excuse why they didn't start them yet. slows me down in my planning quite a bit since I took this week off to work on it.

It's amazing how many ways we can get slowed down, chain reaction and all. I will say that your engine swap is soooo much further than mine!
Yeah I am a car hauler so I work away from home, so not like I can tool with it every night. So will delay it a lot actually. But expecting some errors I put my start up date goal out a few weeks past my expected date.
I was wondering about your build earlier. searched your posts to see if you made a build thread. None?

Nope, not yet. It's been a long drawn out process due to my financial situation. It's moving forward now though! Once it's back in my hands I will certainly sit down and write a nice long thread!
