What did you do to your Jeep today?

This is a wildly successful thread on another forum I'm on, so I thought I might as well start it here.

Today I traced down a loud squeling coming from the engine that I determined was a result of a cheap belt. I determined it was the belt by spraying the grooves of the belt with WD40 while the engine was running. If the squeling is the belt, the sqeeling will stop when you spray it.

Next I found a location to install my catch can. To do so I had to cut two bolts and trim the head of one of them. For those that have removed your stock CAI, there is a bracket just waiting to be put to work.

Here's some photos for the hell of it. I know it's not the prettiest thing you've ever seen, but it functions nicely. :)

Took it to the dealer for fourth time in 2 months trying to resolve SES. 2 or 3 O2 sensors later they are installing new cat, which evidently includes Y pipe. Also trying to resolve the notorious vibration at 60+mph. Suppose to pickup tomorrow AM.

Let me know what they come up with for the bad vibes my dealer pretty much told me to f off since it was over the speed limit...and there's no Y pipe on these...

The the service guy explained that the cat comes with some exhaust tubing. I asked if it was part of a Y pipe he said yes. Anyway the SES light is finally out and I can use the remote start for winter warmups!

The vibration was a wheel weight fell off however the initial vibration issue was initial a bent rim or rims. I curb rashed the passenger side bad. I had both wheels repaired, but I should have chucked em both. The dealer said it was FR wheel causing vibration issue and was likely bent, I bought an aftermarket and then post mount it still had the vibrating issue post road force balance. Dealer says oops I meant RR, bought another aftermarket wheel then mount & road force balance and still a little vibration, but way better. Dealer then finds wheel weight fell off and now for the first time this SRT8 rides pretty smooth!!!
I think one or both rims were bent before curb rash from likely pot hole. This JGC SRT8 never ran real smooth even during initial test drive, which I figured were the run flats. I replaced the run flats and the ride was better but something was still amiss. Until yesterday BTW 100mph feels like 65mph now. Hard acceleration from O, 10, 30 mph upto 80-100 mph feels great.

What I did find out with a lot of research, dealer mechanic input, wheel shop advise is these JGC SRT8 wheels bend easy. Curb rash can easily bend these wheels and cause a vibration that is only resolveable by wheel replacement. BTW dealer wanted $2097 per wheel that's why I had no choice but to go aftermarket.

Installed my Stage6 QA1's and I'm loving the Gansta pimp daddy caddy like ride!
I did find that my old set were shot, one too tight and one loosey goosey.
THANK YOU HARRY @ STAGE 6

I was able to get all my HVAC and middle console lights working again thanks to my buddy who is a soldering machine. All the lights were burnt out! So for less than $20.00 in parts and less than 2 hours of work we replaced all of them and I have seen the light. Who knew something so minor could bring such joy.

Used mine to save 2 lives...baddest drunk wagon at the banquet last night...took 2 peeps home safe and got one of them to freak a bit when I launched it from a light hahaha ****ing with drunk people is funny especially when it's your boss, he was talking and all the sudden sounded like he got punched in the chest cause mid word I heard a hu'hhgh lol that made up for the agony of looking at everyone drink wishing that your glass had something other than water...

And I wonder if my wheels are messed up...the dealer never said anything though they have balanced the 3 times at least and the vibe stayed...inspected the front end and nothing was found then the last time I took it they said they couldn't do anything cause it was over the speed limit...so I said screw it I guess I'll just do 95 instead of 85 haha

Oh and you should post pics of the maro in the other vehicle section. ...

Installed my taillight solutions rear fog harnesses and my new escort 9500ix on a blendmount with the mirror tap cord. Very slick, clean looking setup, and should help save my a$$ this summer with the arrival of boost and sunshine!

Throw up some pics of your radar detector mount, would love to see it.

Here are the pics of the blendmount and 9500ix in my 2010.
Had to slightly trim the release lever to fit under the auto headlight housing but it was a very easy modification with a bench grinder and file. The mirror tap was easy as pie also. Used a multimeter to locate a hot wire when the ignition is on (I believe was pink with a white stripe) and using the black wire as a ground. Mount was easy to install, just slide the mirror off the windshield and unplug it rather than working over your head and in a tight spot. Test the mirror plug and install the mirror tap with the plug hanging free and no mirror in the way. Re-install the mirror to the windshield, plug in the harness, aim the radar, tighten all connections then plug in the detector and enjoy. 1 hour would be a generous guess of install time.

Love the blendmount. Looks very clean and hard to tell there's a detector in there through the windshield.

Can i ask where from?

#1,475 ·
So in 2 months of owning it, I've put over 2500 smiles..and the mileage in my 30 mpg fun car have dropped to 26, I feel bad fo the little car now that I'm spoiled my lead foot tries to match the jeeps acceleration...and I try not to break loose by letting the clutch slip a bit I'm gonna end up needing a new one soon...

Does thinking about it count?

Posted a brief vendor review on the shop who "built it". Can't wait for it to be accepted.

Sad but True, I had my Fleetwood broke into broad daylight at the Magic Johnson theater in Largo 2 years ago, hole in the door, broken steering column. Must have been amateurs because these b-body cars have pass-key feature, there's no way of starting it without the resistor chip or going on a tow truck. Only thing they stole was my son's bookbag SMH. Jeep is in a garage 80% of the time, if its outside I park very close to my car within inches, to where I cant even open the passenger door 2 inches LOL
