I just realized I may need the relay wiring harness and ordered it today. I have never done this install before and don't claim to know how to. I am going to post a step by step of the before, install, and after. Possibly a video or two if I can. If all works well, I'll get a set of H10 3000k for my fog lights. I really like the yellow light for bad weather and snow driving. (This is just a Limited, not an SRT-8)
First, can someone tell me what the red card is for? There were 2 in the box.
Second, I am assuming the wiring harness with the fuse is the capacitor harness?
Will these lights function like a factory installed light with out the relay? I have read many posts claiming odd function and strobing with out the relay harness. I will not attempt an install without it, I need this truck to get to the train everyday in the dark. Cant risk it until Saturday.

Hey jdoria,
Congrats on the new parts! It's really easy to install, the hardest part is probably running all the wires and and mounting the ballast. One suggestion is installing the ballast behind the headlights by popping of the top plastic cover of the headlights. bend the bracket about 90 degrees and using the one of the two bolts to hold it down.
to answer the question about the "red card" maybe its a double sided sticky tape?

yup, but not for the fogs if you decide to upgrade that as well

The red pads are double sided tape to mount the ballast that isn't sticky at all. Throw them away!
When you install you are not going to use the capacitors in your second pic. The relay harness replaces those.
If you decide to go with the fogs then you will need the capacitors. Dont throw those away, you might need them later if you hook the fogs up wrong.

Good info. If I reverse the polarity on the fogs, I'll need the extra capacitors.
IS there a way to check the polarity pre-installation?

If you make a video, Your the man. It would make it easier for when I do it after I get this truck.

Yes you need to check polarity on the lows as well. Chances are you are going to have to reverse the pins in the connector. I did for the lows and the fogs. Very easy to reverse once you do it.
I have a 06 and I hooked the harness up to the driver side and the brown wire going into the connector is the positive an the black is negitive. You need to make sure your harness plug is lined up with the white wire correspondes with the brown wire and the blacks match up. Otherwise they will still work but the driver side will not come on sometimes(don't ask me how I know):D
PM me your email and I will send a diagram on how to reverse the pins in the connector.

I have decided to install a set of HID's from a sponsor of this forum, XENONDEPOT for my fog lights. I'll do a review of both from purchase to first night of driving for everyone to read.
Saturday this week, ill be finishing the XENONLINK 6500k low beam configuration.
Next week, I'll be installing the XENONDEPOT 300k fog lamp configuration.

You can't go wrong with xenondepot. Hindsight 20/20 I would have gone with him from the beginning. Just trying to save some mod money. His customer service alone is worth the extra not to mention the better products. Excellent decision jdoria.
Let us know how everything goes.

Naturally, the price just went up to $249.00 from $224.00 when I decide to test them.
