I found a nice 06 Jeep from Nevada. Carfax says it was orignally purchased there as well. I live in CA, so it must meet california smog requirements. Does anyone know if all newer vehicle now conform to all 50 states? There is a sticker somewhere on the jeep, (door jamb or under the hood) that talks about it. Can someone tell me where the sticker is so I can have the seller go look at it?

Thanks in advance you for your help.:)

Open the hood. The sticker is on the underside of the front of the hood. It says its 50 states legal.

I believe you're still gonna pay an extra $300 or something simply because it's coming from out of state. I know when I first moved here from Vegas years ago, I got hit with a nasty tax registering my vehicle in Cali.

Something you may want to consider ..

Several out of State SRTs are being modified by the owner and then sold. Not a problem if it's sold in a State that's smog friendly.. however, since you live in California, depending on what's done to it, you may have to take it back to "stock" to get it smog legal -- that's only if it was modified to begin with.

Just beware of this issue -- you don't want to incur a bunch of expenses.

If you do end up getting something that doesn't pass smog, Lemme know. Depending on the problem, I have a friend with a few smog shops in the Los Angeles area.

I glad I don't live in that communist state. Can't mod your car. Can't own any cool guns. Surrounded by liberals. Yuck!

Thanks for the info.

The guy said it's all stock except for the CIA, and trailer hitch. He just sent me a close up of the hitch and it looks crappy. They cut out a good part of the bumper above the exhaust. It also has a trailer brake, they must have towed some heavy stuff in order to need a trailer brake. I find this a bit odd.
