Dear all,

I live in Moscow, Russia and here we get the SRT8 with 432HP.

I thought it was just a SAE/DIN measure issue, but I found out that 420 SAE HP are 425 DIN HP.

Does anyone know if is there any difference in the engines, if yes which?

Is it because we pay $91'800 for a GC SRT8 so they give us a bit more HP ? :)

My guess would be that you have less strict emissions control, so maybe the cats are different?

$91,800 what is the conversion to USD?
The sticker on the ones in the USA are around $46,000 USD

Your SRTs are made in Austria by Chrysler.
The additional charge is Putin tax/agent fees.
The HP difference (if there is) is due to free flow no cat converters.
Congrates!
Whats your wheel sizes?

SkyeHighSRT8,

$=USD so $91800=USD91800:) !!!

Prices of cars are expressed in USD or EURO.
You can pay USD, EURO or Rubles...cash only!!!

The dealer told me that SRT8 are produced in USA the rest in Austria.

It comes with 245/45 R20 wheels... 20x8.

I'm not aware of any other difference, but I'm very curious about power difference.

Just came back from Moscow, saw couple of GCSRT8. It's exactly same car; all cars produced in Europe must have cats. I also understand that Europian smog requirementa are even more stringent than here in US. I believe that difference is coming from how they calculate HP in Europe. Sort of US tonn compared to metric tonn- slightly different.
$92K is a lot of money! Did you try grey market? I think you can save yourself few thousand $$$ if you're able to get a new vehicle purchased at Chrysler dealer only auction. I know for a fact that quite some SRT10 trucks were exported to Germany at substantial savings. Somehow, being a truck helps to avoid certain Europian taxes. Not positive, but believe that same applies to GCSRT8. You may want to do more research on that. Unless, money is not an object:D

Its the Octane of the GAS, they use Highier octanes for better emmissions

Hi!
I'm from Kazakhstan. You should recognize my country from Borat movie (last winter saw it on my trip to Great Britain - very funny) :D
In our local Crysler dealership all SRT8 is from Austria, and the price is similar to Russia. Around $90000-95000. Regarding to my calculations, total price of new GCSRT8, brought from USA dealer($47+ thousands) to Kazakhstan, including road payments and local taxes will be 70-75000. But no dealer warranty. I read some posts about tranny fluid leak, passenger window, etc. But it is not serious problems. So is it critical for this car to have warranty?
Thanx!
PS. sorry, i'm not good in english. but, some practice and all be ok :)

It could get expensive even with minor issues, but if you can save $20K on your purchase, I think it's worth of taking risk. Besides, our warranty is 3years/36,000 miles. I believe in Russia it is less than that.

Thanx for advice.
Warranty is 3 yrs and 60000 km as dealer says. But 95k is too expensive...

You have an advantage, b/c most of the time lions share of the bill here are labor charges @ $80+ p/hour. I don't believe you'lll be paying as much for labor in Kazakhstan. Parts are not that expensive after all, unless iit's something major as AMG transmission. I remember reading here that someone got the new engine for $4995...

Our labour cost is differs from dealer to dealer. For example BMW dealer takes 60 euro/hour, subaru (i'm ownin' now) $40/hour. But average cost is slightly cheaper than in US. But parts will be a little more expencive due to transpotring from US to KZ.

"unless iit's something major as AMG transmission" - do you mean, that GCSRT8 has AMG tranny? Is 2-3 year old AMG G55 equipped with that transmission? AFAIK new AMG's comes with 7-gear transmissions.

It does have the old AMG transmission.

The US plant produces only models for USA, Canada and Mexico. For all markets outside North America, the SRT8 Jeeps are built in Austria.

Former USSR is everywhere... Where are you located? Love your handle. Curious where is it coming from?;)

Edit: You are in Riga, or from Riga? It will be sort of complicated to meet up...
