I am seeing more and more pictures of SRT8's with metal sport pedals. Did I get jipped? Are they supposed to be stock items?? I didn't see them on the options list. What gives??

All, I answered my own question here with a little research and some help from Ideal Rides (thanks!). I was so excited to get the Jeep I think I overlooked the fact that it should have come with the "bright" pedals in the SRT1 package. This might be a good thread for those of you picking up new rigs at the dealer.... check out your pedals to see if they have been "borrowed" by someone at the dealership before you picked up your rig.

Mine, came with an extra set of black rubber pedals that fit over the sport pedals. See if they come off, the sport pedals may be under the rubber pedals.

That sucks, I'm still waiting for a SRT8 owners manual.

My bright pedals were a pain in the ass to install....... If you have time, i'd recommend having the dealership do it. The gas pedal was easy, the brake is a different story. A flat head screw driver will be your best friend for this procedure. You also may want to try a mixture of soap and water to help ease the rubber around the brake pedal frame...Good luck They look good once you get them on there!:p

Actually, if you order the SRT Option Group 1, it comes with the Bright Pedals, but they come in a box and have to be installed by the dealer. I picked mine up at the railhead, so I actually drove mine to the dealer to be prepped. It came with a box and had the bright brake pedal in it, and the black rubber brake pedal was installed.

Interesting.....Mine went to a Stateside dealer or depo first and then to Bremerhaven Germany and from there it was shipped south. I picked it up already prepped and ready to go. I spoke with a representative today that said they will try and have the pedals sent to a dealer here and have them do the install. I installed these same type pedals on the Infiniti and by the time I was done with all three pedals and the dead pedal I had a ripped thumbmail and several bleeding digits! Soapy water, flat head driver and a small mirror were invaluable. Plus you have to be a contortionist to get to the things!
