Okay. I've been around for a month or so and it continues to amaze me how many people are around that can (1) afford this thing, (2) spend thousands on upgrades, and (3) trade in vehicles so often. So, I'd like a soundoff on your (1) age, (2) profession, (3) location (pertinent as to cost of living), and (4) whether this car is yours or you "spouse's" and/or a primary vehicle or Sunday driver.

I'll start. I'm 30, an attorney, live in Dallas, Texas, and am buying the SRT8 for my wife as a Christmas present.

Have not ordered...number 4 or 5 on the list for Don (at Champion) to ordered the 2009 when it comes time to order them. Pricing should be similar to the current prices of an SRT8 not all of the hype of the 08' challenger...also, the 6-spd should be available.

I'm 39, wife-37, the SRT is pleasure use only, when we're not in the Challenger convertible, (see avatar), wife's afraid to drive The Challenger & she needs a toy too!

I restore antique cars professionally (ABM Restorations) 15 years in business .

We don't trade cars that often, but I had lusted after one of these things since I saw the first TV commercial, and figured it would be a nice addition to the stable.

We live a stones throw from Bristol Motor Speedway.

27, engaged. dependents: 1 special cat and 3 plain guinea pigs. i'm a systems programmer for a paypal clone on wall st. the jeep's my daily driver, and is stock mechanically. small mods i did: wired rear fogs & nav hack. i've owned the truck since 9/2006 and love it. i want to keep it for a while, and because it's my daily driver, want to stay away from high risk mods that lead to downtime. my mod wishlist, in order, when $ allows, is:

1. bwoody cai

2. borla t exhaust

3. kooks lt headers

4. tune (b&g for now, perhaps something better when the time comes)

5. bwoody intake manifold

6. ported throttle body

7. pulley

i would consider a turbo application if a reliable package were developed, however judging from what's been discovered by the builder / fast / et all slapping a turbo on would mean a commitment to upgrade other driveline components as well (tranny / diffs / motor?) which may be more $ than i'd want to sink into this.

Yeah the bike is pretty decked out, bored and stroked to a 1350 with heads and cams. Personally Bub was the only company that I liked the look of. No they dont make the most power, but thats why I did all the engine stuff. I wanted a whole lotta power with some killer looks. And the sound is just simply awesome

I have built numerous bikes for Vance & Hines, and Python to promote. And Bub was all for my bike as well, so it worked out good.

It put out a little over 150 RWHP which is excellent for a set of Bubs. Stock is about 100. And with a HP pipe I could probably get into the 160's. Never took it to the strip, but I can tell you the thing is hella fast. Are you using the race tuner or the power commander?

46, married with children (que the theme song), live under a bridge, and barter my food stamps for gas money to keep the baby fed.

Seriously now, self-employed engineer, the GC is my company vehicle and for the most part a DDD. No, that's not the wife's bra size, its means Dry Daily Driver. (and speaking of such it looks like I've dropped way too many dollar bills at the local Portland strip clubs.) All stock (for now), even though it's a company rig, modding still depletes the disposable income and makes the wife grow weary of my habit :)

Don't anyone forget that we are lucky beyond compare to be able to live free in this society and enjoy such luxuries. For a dose of sobriety this season, take the $50 bucks you were going to stick in the GC gas tank this week, drop it off at the homeless shelter, and make a positive impact the less fortunate this season. Oh yeah, and don't forget to take care of your mother (earth); when our kids get to our age, they won't be able to enjoy the same pleasures of internal combustion that we indulge.

Happy Holidays and keep it all in perspective.

Would you say buying a Jeep SRT8 is a wise investment?

still as a student...heck yeah.

as a future financial adviser...absolutely not. Ha, seriously. But given that more often then not the most economical cars carry connotations relating to social suicide. I prefer this VEHICLE because it blows my mind every morning when I start it up. I am also a very materialistic individual and am partially addicted to massive hp in unsuspecting machines such as this bad mamajama...technically speaking.

So I advise a moped, but support the rash decision of a Ferrari secretly. ;)

When I'm not taking my naps or allowing Girl Scouts to help me across the street, I participate in car shows where my drooling is assumed to be admeration for the other cars. Really enjoy the Forum and appreciate the knowledge of many. thanks for letting participate.

I know who to hit up if ever I am in the area. I gladly support the businesses of forum members. :D

I'm 33 and divorced, an office manager for a pipeline construction company (shameless plug in case anybody here needs a multi-million dollar pipeline thrown in their back yard - http://www.henkels.com/LOB/GasPipeline/gaspipe.asp ), I live in West Monroe, LA & the Jeep is my DD. I will be getting another vehicle as my weekend warrior. I haven't decided if it will be the new Challenger or a '71 Cuda, but it's between those two for now.

29, now single, owner/partner of a few non related businesses. One is a landscaping company, another is an internet dating/networking site (just launched last week) in Chicago: www.SocialintheCity.com (http://www.SocialintheCity.com). My new more mainstream aftermarket parts site should be up by the middle of Jan and will cater mainly to domestic performance vehicles. I also write for Primedia Publications, and have sold rare/exotic performance parts/engines on the side for years.
GCSRT8 is my DD, the Cobra is reserved for random summer days/OT events and is on its way out to make room for a '09 CTS-V.

Heh well I am 31, not married yet, livingin Edmonton Alberta, boomtown due to the Oil Fields north of here. Work for a video game developer, did a game called Mass Effect for the xbox 360.

The jeep is my DD, and is the only vehicle in the family atm. So I do have to drive it through the 6 months of horrible winter conditions that destroy vehicles. I plan to keep this beast for a good long while. I need a speedy vehicle I can take to the drag strip, that can carry a couple people and my Beagles on long road trips, can do fine in the winters thanks to the awd, and looks dam good doing it. Show me another vehicle that can do all that for less then I paid for the Jeep. The STI comes close but doesn't have the interior room.

Joined a little while ago, but this is my first post.

I'm 35, just got married in June, and work for the only federal police force in Canada.
And live in Ottawa. Just picked up my '08 Silver SRT on Wednesday and came to Vancouver yesterday for the holidays. So it's sitting for 2 weeks.
I also have a 2001 Honda RC51. Used to road race motorcycles.

It's my daily driver, so like Toe, I get to deal with the wonderful winter roads and salt and all the crap that goes along with it(used to live in Edmonton as well, and Vancouver for 10 years).

But am I ever happy I got it! What an awsome ride. Got it with option group 1 and 2, as well as the nav/backup camera group. Lots of toys to play with. Have to get the Nav-tv mod!!

I work for my dad's business. We are a manufacturer of hoses, valves, and fittings. We basically make and sell every damn thing there is related to the field. Seal Fast Incorporated.

I currrently drive a 2005 stratus RT coupe.

First I had a GC limited when I was 16. Then at 17 I got a 5.9 limited when it came out and I also got a cherokee limited. THen at 18 I got a completely tricked out expedition with about 10" of lift. Then I totalled it and my dad pulled the plug on my fun. He gave me a 2001 cougar (silver) with a black door and a red fender...Talk about a humbling experience. We called it the "calico cougar". Drove that for 2 years. Then dad felt bad (or was embarassed) and got me the stratus to finish up school with. IT has been a good car.
When I graduate (summer 08) I get one last car from him (my budget has been increased again) so I have chosen GC SRT8. I cannot wait!

TMI, but what the hell...

Hey! I am 32, married, I am a loan officer/accountant, and my wife is a teacher. Been married 7 years. We have no children but have two cats that think they are our kids. My 07 SRT8 is my DD. Wife drives an 05 Pathfinder (my handmedown). She doesn't really care about cars. So every couple years I get a new one and she gets my old one and we sell what she is driving. I know, I know, I am lucky! God has been really good to me in more ways than I can say.

Corporate. I am the go between Sales and logistics. Kind of like a glorified project manager. I manage three regions and oversee everything from the time Sales brings the clients solution to us to the time it goes out the door. Mfg, logistics, planning, engineering, customs etc.

I'm a stay at home dad. It's fun.... even though you get 2 days. The things you'll see at your kids age is about to become very cool. Enjoy it. They grow WAY TOO fast. HArd to believe mine are already 5, 4, and almost 2. Seems like just yesterday they were born.

That's awesome Harrison! These 1st 2 days were incredible! I've been trying to convince my wife to go back full-time now! She's not havin' it tho. :( No kidding about growing up too fast. It's hard to believe our little one is gonna be a year old soon! It does happen oh so fast. There's not enough time to take everything in and it's truly amazing to watch them develop and change just about every day. Can't wait to have more children! :D
