Has anyone else had a water leak from where the garage door buttons are... I washed my jeep for the first time today and water was leaking from there.. I guess it's to the dealership for me... If you have had this issue what do they have to do to fix it.. thanks

More than likely referring to overhead consol with 3 buttons and interior reading lamps.

I do auto glass for Chrysler dealerships and I have not been called in to repair this kind of water leak. The two areas are fairly obvious. Sunroof or windshield with windshield most likely Isolate the leak by using a hose with light water pressure along the top part of your windshield . Check your over head console after a few minutes. At maximum perhaps spray water 10 minutes although it sounds like you had penetration only after a few minutes.

If no water, wait awhile and then do the same on sunroof. Make sure sunroof is in closed position (duh).
If sunroof leaks, it may be seal, it may not seat properly or that drain tubes have concerns.
If it is windshield, removal and reset may be neccessary. Removing only upper molding and injecting urethane is the least invasive but also very hit and miss. Reinstalling molding without removal of glass may have cosmetic implications.
Other possible but improbable areas are roof seams and welds. If water passage is fairly quick, those areas usually are not the cause.

I have noticed the parking assist system always malfunctions too, probably water leaking in the roof making contact with some sort of electronics or something.

No leaks in mine..... and it's an '09 as well. Jopefully these are just isolated incidents.

I have no leaking here, and my 08 gets cleaned/ washed REGULARLY.... This could potentialy be a big problem... make sure to get that fixed before it gets too cold...

so i finally took it to the dealer and they had it for a couple days. Turns out it was leaking from the Satellite radio antenna on the top front passenger side of the roof. they took the roof lining off from the inside of the Jeep and sealed that bad boy up. Rediculous, I had a lot of fun with the rental car though, I def got my $21 per day joy out of it. I love parking brakes and 1st gear.

yea mine is leaking from somewhere too and enough water got inside that it shorted the right channel on my stereo. very mad and the dealer may not cover the repairs fighting with them now. call me crazy but i think a 2008 should be water proof nuts i know

Cargo area leak, by the amp?

I've read where this is caused by the sunroof drains being clogged and can be blow out with compressed air. I have not been able to figure out where the sunroof drains are in order to clean them out.

hey guy's i'm new to the forum i've had my 06 for almost two years and it just started leaking up top and down the sides where the handles are what a pain in the a$$

We see a few leaks a year in Hawaii...sunny & hot most of the year,then come Nov. to Feb. the RAIN season here, it leaks.what happens is the weather strips for the sun roof cracks & shrinks during those long sunny hot months & when it finally rains you get a leaking sun roofs....the dealers will most likely change the sun roof glass & or module because I believe the seal around the glass is non replaceable...its a pita to do......A pillar B pillar C pillar comes off & the over head consol along with your grab handles & interior lights & whole headliner..which is why I ordered mine with no sun roof.I saw this too many times here..out of the 7 or so I seen just 1 was a drain tube problem. thought I'd share what I have seen:)
