: Finally time for some decent pics
No fancy photography skills here, but I was able to get the Heep cleaned up today and snap a few pics. I know many folks don't care for my wheels (which is totally cool by me), but man-- I just totally dig their look.

El Jefe 08-31-2006, 04:35 PM those are crazy! Very nice! Did you lower the Jeep too? Might want to blur your plate out
Fast1 08-31-2006, 04:38 PM Sweet! Looks great.
Nope-- not lowered yet. Working on a kit with H&R, but nothing so far.
As for blurring out the license plates..... I've been doing these forums, at all levels (posting, moderating, creating, etc) for darn near 10 years now. People knowing my license plate won't do a thing for them. Shoot-- people see me driving it ona daily basis, should I hide it from them too? ;)
Black_SRT8 08-31-2006, 05:20 PM The close-up is my favorite.
Definite stuntin.
El Jefe 08-31-2006, 05:21 PM Better safe than sorry.
Those rims make the Jeep look lower. I dont know how much lower you want to go without having any clearance issues. I like the stance on the 3rd pic. Looks just right!
Yes-- better safe than sorry, for sure. That is why it's registered to a PO Box :)
MatFab 08-31-2006, 06:28 PM truck looks sick forsure.. love the wheels but the black lip kinda is a tosu. defienntly different though.. truck would look sick black with everything blacked out like u have
MatFab 08-31-2006, 06:29 PM also maybe try 35% tint on the windshield.. u would love it.. but i know the cops don't
Dr.Steve 09-03-2006, 05:49 PM they look great ge2, completely worth the wait. . . and the drilled rotors make a really nice combo with the new wheels, can't wait to see what you change next!
boomer 09-04-2006, 01:36 AM the truck is so sick i'm grabbing a bucket right now!! how or where did you get the black out tail lights and rotors?

Thanks Boomer. The rotors are called DiscItalia, purchased from Brakeworld.com.
And the tail lights were done by a local body shop that has done lots of paintwork for me in the past.
john schillaci 09-04-2006, 10:51 AM Nope-- not lowered yet. Working on a kit with H&R, but nothing so far.

Are those tail lights med or dark tint? Thanks John
They aren't really a specific shade... just what the painter decided looked good.
Clueless 09-04-2006, 07:34 PM ge2 did you go up a size on the rotors? or are those stock size? if you did, what's the specs on them?
...looks GOOOOOD!
SRTREX 09-13-2006, 10:05 AM I actually really like those rims, never seen them before. Great Srt8!!!!
newbee2001 09-18-2006, 11:37 PM Can you list all the mods you have made to your ride and the associated cost per mod... This serves as a nice guide to others and a awsome example of good taste and sweet budget.
I made this Photoshop for ya so you know you made the right choice with the grey on dardishrims and nor dard on dark...
here have a look...
Cool Photoshop! Thanks for posting it. If I had a black GC< I would have gone black spokes with a chrome barrell, most likely. I also would play up the red in the tail lenses if I had black. Swap out to red calipers, and also the carbon fiber inlay on the wheels would be red carbon fiber.
Ok, the mods I've done so far are mostly appearance type mods. The only performance stuff I've done are the GSM intake, and the Magnaflow exhaust. I also swapped out my rotors and pads. The rotors are more cosmetic, in my case, but the pads are a performance mod I guess. They are Rotex pads.
Appearance wise:
* tinted all tail lenses
* colormatched the roof rack and all chrome belt and door moldings, as well as the rear bumper chrome strip
* painted front chin spoiler black
* removad all badging
* tinted front windows
* DiscItalia cross-drilled & vented rotors
* 22 x 9.5 & 22 x 10.5 Davin Speed SP2, 3 piece forged wheels. Chrome spokes, black barrells
* 265 35 and 295/30 Toyo rubber
I also have some new upholstery for the upper door panels, but haven't take the time to have it installed yet.
I think that's all for now.
radduc 09-19-2006, 11:01 AM Boy that thing is going to suck in the snow :confused:
1) I have no idea why it would be any worse in the snow than it would have been before any of the above listed mods.
2) a 420hp car is generally not a great snow vehicle
3) Seattle doesn't see much snow, but when we do get it, this vehicle will still get me anywhere I need to go.
MatFab 09-19-2006, 11:11 AM Boy that thing is going to suck in the snow :confused:
i'm amazed at the people worried so much about snow on here... i drove a 2wd s10 blazer with s85's on the rear and a 450hp sbc for 3 years straight.. I am in michigan and we get some pretty good winters and i never got stuck.. and here are you guys in an awd jeep that i hope to god u know how to drive and not get stuck in..
sorry had to rant.. i think some people on this board might be doctors and not able to use common sense..
radduc 09-19-2006, 11:15 AM I would think those tires have a much lower profile and stiffer sidewalls ban for snow.I am still trying to find a set of wheels I can throw some snow tires on.Looks like the smalliest wheel is going to be a 19 because of the size of the brake's

understandable but i have never seen a problem with smaller sidewalls and snow.. the problem lies in the tread pattern
I driven my old expeditions (both were 4 wd, one bagged, and one with a static drop) on 24s, 23s, 22s, and 20s, with a very small sidewall, up skiing and back several times over the last 5 years. The sidewalls aren't really a concern for me. It's the tread pattern, and mostly just how you drive in the snow. The proxes are an excellent tread pattern, and have worked fine for me in the snow every time I've needed them.
radduc 09-19-2006, 11:19 AM That and the fact that the tire will not flex which causes it to slide.I just wish I could throw 18's on my jeep for the winter

like i said in the other thread about winter tires.. just get some nice 20" tires and u are all set.. look at how many factory vehicles come with 20's now... hell i'm looking for a winter set of 24's for a burban.. haha
radduc 09-19-2006, 11:25 AM WOW!! Thats alot of rubber
lincoln 09-21-2006, 07:37 PM As far as bluring the plates in the pics...you are right since you live in Washington. Those of us in TX, CO, FL, ID, MN, ME, MS, MO, NC, OH, OR, SD, TN, UT, WV, and WI need to since those are the states on publicdata.com. Anyone with $20 can get year sub to look up all sorts of information about vehicles and people in the aforementioned states. I used to keep everything registered to my dad's office address for security reasons but he sold the building and merged with a larger firm (and will retire soon) so I had to change back to using my physical address.
NitroCrzy 10-13-2006, 01:54 PM Try tracking my plates.... lol!
Very nice looking truck ge2!
I put up some crummy ones today. I wish we had some decent parts stores here in Saudi. Your truck makes me want to put real wheels on my beast. Here are the pic's I took today.
