Is this true???

"It is the factory OEM rotor that has simply been drilled. I've seen them on the shelves at GSM on their racks in the warehouse."

I hope that's not a true statement, if it is, I wonder about those rotors and their safety. . . didn't Zeckhausen just state that they decided that drilling the OEM rotors would compromise their structural integrity and make them unsafe for our application, hence no drilled rotors from Zeck?????

Hey Guys!!

I believe that those rotors are the factory ones just machined. Thats why I went with R1 Concepts. I've used them on other vehicles and they were awesome. 400.00 for the set (4)

I have the r1 rotors on my armada. No issues at all. Might go that route with the Jeep as well.

I got the R1's today 440 shipped. I called back to order another set for a friend and they said that they made a mistake and the new price was like 700. I checked back on the web site and sure enough they have changed the prices so I guess that me and moparnut got lucky.

Yea, R1's are great when I used them before. They're at www.r1concepts.com and they actually sell for 600.00 now.

Dear Confused,

The GS brake upgrade kit for the Jeep is definitely not the factory
rotor just drilled. The rotors are drilled and slotted which cannot
be easily done on the factory rotor itself. Furthermore, the cost of
the complete GSM kit is cheaper than the dealer cost of the factory
rotors/pads alone. After having the dealer replace the rotors/pads
under warranty at 12,000 miles I decided to look at other options.
I have installed the GSM kit myself and the results were dramatic.
The stopping is now progressive with real feel and hardly any brake
dust is apparent. The factory rotor/pad combination failed on both.
One upgrade definitely recommended. Furthermore, after you get
past 14,000 miles you will be out of warranty from the dealer and
then what will you do?

Actually, you'll be up the preverbial crap creek at 12,000 miles.
