Well, it took 4 months but it finally happened....Coming back from lunch sitting at a red light with a buddy and I launched it, next thing I know my Escort lit up with "LASER", I look up and the cop was standing in the street... Lucky for him we have good brakes!!! So he tells me I was doing 73 in a 35 :eek: that'll be $300 sir!... There was actually 4 cop cars on a side street with a little speed trap going.... They were pretty cool though, complimented the ride and we bs'd for a few minutes.....

Guess you gotta pay to play sometimes (its worth it though)
BTW, the street was safe, no innocent bystanders other than the cop...

Also, just put on my dark tinted tails from Palella a couple days ago and they said absolutely nothing about them!!

So far I have had only one ticket with my GC SRT8. It was at nite and I didn't have my Radar detector yet. I was behind a line of traffic going through a one lane construction zone on Interstate 81. The cop was on the other side of the median watching the other traffic...I couldn't see her, it was really dark that nite. As soon as it went into two lanes I gunned it and passed the traffic. The female cop heard me, turned around inside her car and hit me with the gun. Fortunately it was only 79 in a 65. WTF, gotta love a loud exhaust!

Being that it was a dedicated speed trap I think you will be hard pressed to get out of this one even with a lawyer. I am sure they had all their ducks in a row for the speed trap party.

Fortunately I haven't had to find a good lawyer in Dallas yet... I got a ticket out in Palo Pinto on the way to Possom Kingdom lake, but that was a bit easier to get taken care of... small town stuff.

That sucks man. It seems everytime I get the urge to floor it off a light or mess around there is ALWAYS a cop nearby:eek:

I got my first "TAX" 3 days after delivery..... 55 in a 35 - THANK GOD that I slowed down for the railroad crossing that was just before the speed trap. The Brembo's saved my tail!!!

It seems when a cop is just by himself, its always Ka band radar... but when they have a dedicated speed-trap, they bust out the laser... as if the department only has a few units.

I think its time to invest in a laser jammer; unlike a radar jammer which is illegal thanks to the FCC, a laser jammer is an active/passive system which emits infrared light and actually works.

Will be one of my next mods.
