Why not buy a SRT-10? Is your truck 4wd?

No the truck is not a 4x4 and why buy something when you can build it? Who has a 6.1 ram? Who has done a 06 front-end? Who has powder coated a 6.1? No one, I am the first. And with the amount of power I have and the money that I have saved compared to a SRT-10 it is worth it. My truck was 24k cheaper my 5.7 hemi sold for $2000 and other parts sold for some extra $$ too. all in all I am not out alot of money and the truck if sprayed would have over 600 hp. Now the only problem I have is a broken piston with just under 100 miles on the motor and no spray. So now I am looking to stroke the motor and Royal Purple deals with Indy Cylider Head alot and see what I could get a 7.0 426 stroke kit for. if too high then step down to a 413 or a 392. The only thing you can do to a SRT-10 is NX, super charger (45k) or turbo (45k) too $$ for me and couldn't do it. Hennessy sucks in my opinion, and not many people work on the viper motor in the Houston area. so I built my truck the way I wanted it.

Absolutely love it. The paint work is killer, the bedliner ROCKS, and it's a one of a kind. Well done.

Thats awesome, I wish you were able to get some track times with that stock setup. I always wondered what an SRT8 Ram would perform like.

Nice job!

If ya want something different, ya gotta build it yourself.

yeah it has been a fun and long project. I had some custom seats made for the truck so I will have to post them when I get a chance.

shsu,

Very, very nice work! I love your creation, have thought to myself before how cool a 6.1'ed Ram would be.

Thank you. I was thinking the same thing and ordered all the parts back in 05 and slow got all the things I would need to make this truck look the way it does. maybe in a few months it will be done.

Dude, that truck is awesome! While the SRT10 is nice, the sound of a Hemi V8 wins hands down everytime. The V10 just doesn't cut it for me.

thanks guys. i am in the process of building my CAI since I can't use one of the ones made for these motors. I have new leathers ready to go in and the motor is half apart trying to find out the problem with cylinder #3.

You know what your exactly right. Don't get me wrong, I'd love having that V-10 Motor, but they just never sound as good as a nicely tuned V-8. IMHO.
