Little update for you guys. Took my truck into jeep for the rear whine they acknoledged the noise. They ordered all new parts and they have a specific tech that fixes rears. (Ring and pinion, breaings shims ect) Hopefully this will fix the noise. Also they told me theres a computer flash for the trans (TSB). It shifts a little to soon through the gears and hoefully it fixes the clunk in second. Also the will turn my seat belt chime off and set the mirrors to tilt in reverse. The truck will worked on next week the parts are scattered all over the country. Ferman in Tampa seems real cool and the techs are real nice.
I'll keep you guys posted

Guys, look at the topic for the shift harshness after car sits. Basically it is not the trans, but the t-case. My dealer tends to be in the loop with their rep, and while the problem is noted, there is no word as to when a TSB might be in the works. Hopefully it is a quick software change so we aren't left waiting too long.

The harshness felt one time while starting out after veh. has been shut off is in the T-Case. This learn procedure is in the T-Case software to compensate for any clutch wear that may occure in the T-Case clutch after last drive cycle. There is no damage being done, there may be at some point a software update to make this procedure less noticeable.

I've got the same rear end whine. Stupid dealer told me to "break in" the rear end with more miles (I already have 3k on it). I hate it when the d*mn dealers just make excuses to not work on a vehicle. The ring and pinion establish a wear pattern within a 100 miles, so any noise will just get worse not better. The idiots in the service department wouldn't listen to me. Time to find another dealer.
Anyone have any Jeep dealer recommendations for the Richmond, VA area?

The TSB on wkjeeps for the driveline noise/whine is in effect for 2006 models. Anyone on the board with an 07 experiencing a whine at about 40-50 mph?? I only have 600 miles on my black 07! Thanks!

No, I have an 07. No whine, no clunks, no rattles, just a nice exhaust note.

alright, i guess I'm over reacting. I have a slight drone/whine when giving a bit of throttle on the highway, around 50 mph. we'll see how it goes after breaking her in a bit more. I'm still loving the vehicule!!

My 07 has the whine. I had the clunk but it apears the TSB I had done for the clunk has fixed it for now. Is the whine a sign of futer trouble or is it just an annoying sound I will have to learn to live with?
