I have a 1999 Grand Cherokee that I want to put a trailer hitch on. I have seen the ones that have a factory installed hitch and they have a different bumper than mine. What hitch do I need and what extra work has to be done to install it?

Why ask about a 1999 Cherokee? Not even close to the same body style.

Do you know anything about how they will install it? Do you have to reroute the exhaust? Do you have to remove the bumper or cut into it?
Thanks in advance for any info.
Let us know how it goes. Let them know if they do it right they could have more customers

I am frantically searching for a hitch application for the 07 Grand C SRT 8 I am waiting to buy... I cannot purchase this SUV unless it can tow a motorcycle trailer. Has anyone found an application yet? troyclement@aol.com or 214-477-6864. $200 to the person who can refer me to an hitch application that will allow this SUV to tow a small box trailer.

Is this what you're looking for?
Reese Class 4 hitch *75338 (about $95) good for 5000 pounds. Bolts right in to existing holes, but you'll have to cut and relocate the exhaust tips straight out on each side of it, about $100 at a muffler shop.
This SRT8 is great at towing, you hardly feel the trailer behind you
Keep your $200 but if we ever meet the Beer's on you

If you want to keep the exhaust tips in the same location, you can sneak a Jeep dealer class III hitch just above the pipes using a Jeep Commander (2006) hitch. It bolts right to the frame, but you'll have to cut in to the rough plastic and about 1/2 inch of the painted smooth plastic bumper above it. I believe the hitch is around $100, and the truck is already prewired for electrical (though I believe with the 2007's you need to install a relay and have it activated at the dealer using a starscan). If this is of interest, let me know, and I'll shoot a picture of the hitch installed on my 2006.
