Hello to everybody,
I've noticed that there's no deep stick to check the oil level in the trans.
There is instead a rubber cap that tells you to go to the dealer.
I've been told that it is the norm for mercedes( and our GC has a MB tranny),
but what if I want to check the oil by myself?
Does anybody know if the deep stick is available for sale?and which type it is?

I believe they are available (at least from MB) and think you need a special tool to remove the cap and a dipstick. I have the same thing on my SL500, a capped dipstick tube and "lifetime" fluid, since the tranny valve body died at 85K miles it now also has new "lifetime" fluid...I assume we can expect similar problems on our Jeeps using the MB 5-speed.
