: Wheels, tires, rotors and pads
Not for the faint of heart :) I've been doing wheels and tires a long time, and about 4-5 years ago I started going against the grain. I still like big, but I gotta have something custom and / or different. I've painted, machined, anodized, chromed, powder coated and short of the Pimpstar electrical wheels, I've pretty much done at least a variation of most things doable. These are among my favorite I have seen. They don't bling like crazy, they have an understated strength with the black, and I totally dig the stance. Now I just wait for a drop kit :D
Oh yeah.... the black lugs still didn't arrive, so I have chrome until they get here.

They look amazing! Moreover, I bet they look 10x better in person. I am sure you will take some pictures in the daytime, and cannot wait to see the bling.
Nice choice on the seven spokes, they are some serious choppers!
Yes-- I'm heading out camping for the weekend, but as soon as I get back, I'll take some clean, hi-res shots and get them posted.
Black_SRT8 08-23-2006, 10:31 PM The black lugs will really complete the rim. They will accentuate the black lip and tinted windows.
Ok-- in talking to Davin, someone with a black SRT GC is having the 5 spoke Speed rims done in black..... is it you? ;)

I have not pulled the trigger yet. I am ambivalent between the PP heads and the Davins. After reading one guy lost horsepower (is that even possible?), and after seeing your setup, the decision is almost a no-brainer...
I can't tell you how much I dig them. I keep walking out to the garage to stare at them, and for a wheel to do that to me is rare. I just dig how different from the norm they look.
Black_SRT8 08-23-2006, 11:29 PM ^^^ Very atypical to see a silver truck with black lips (maybe I am sheltered), but as you said, the results are unique and unrivaled.
One more thing (I will shut-up - don't want to hijack your thread), after a day, week, month, or whatever it takes, please comment on the highly debated performance aspects...
MatFab 08-23-2006, 11:32 PM damn truck gets even better... looks sick and nice choice of wheels... don't even wanna know what u payed for em
radduc 08-24-2006, 07:53 AM Love the tires, the tread looks like it will handle wet weather great. What kind are they?
radduc 08-24-2006, 08:11 AM Thanks,they look great
Thanks very much. I've been a fan of toyo proxes for several years now. I've had 5 sets of them and have never been anything but pleased.
DRIHEAT 08-24-2006, 09:50 AM Good looking wheels.
Interesting note: the stock GC SRT8 wheels (20"x9" front, 20"x10" rears), if I went to my local Jeep dealer and ordered them (with no discount) and paid my 8.2% sales tax.... I'd have to cut them a check for: $5,897.85!! ...not including center caps, lugs, mounting & balancing or TIRES!
El Calor 08-24-2006, 09:55 AM Wheels look great! However, do you know what the next tire size up is? I think this beefy jeep needs a bit more tire to look perfect :)
Good looking wheels.

You're exactly right. The stockers aren't cheap wheels at all. One piece forged are something special. I just don't like stock :)
As for the tires.... there probably are other options, with some deeper digging. If I hadn't gone staggered, a beefier tire would have been a piece of cake, but staggering, on an all wheel drive ride (that requires the OD to be nearly identical fron to rear) creates a challenge in finding tire sizes that work.
