This is a mod wishlist. Hopefully, some of our aftermarket dealers will listen to us and make these wishes a reality. List any and all mods you want, but currently are not on the market...

1) Functional Ram-Air Hood
2) Handheld Programmer
3) Lowered Suspension

I have a direct contact with Ron at Superchips, and he has told me (here is his exact words): "We have the ability to create the tuner now, but the SRT famialy is a very finely tuned set of vehicles. Truley custom tuning would be the only benifit they we have found for SRT vehicles.

They are awesome vehicles to say they least.
Ron"

He told me there simply isn't the demand for these tuners. I thought he was dead wrong, until he told me they need a minimum of 5000 units to make it worth their while.

I hope all the SRT folks get together and convince them otherwise.

Ok, now to the topic at hand. What do I want? High-end projector headlamps. Grill options. Suspension stuff. Aftermarket hoods.

WOW!! I don't even think that there are 5,000 SRT 8 Jeeps out there

I don't think there are either. But I do think the SRT 300, Charger and Magnum would probably count towards the 5000.

STS Turbo kit!!!!! I've done the bit by bid mod thing with my '98 Formula......Long tube here, intake there, cam, program, etc.etc. What I learned is...I still spent alot of money and it was a pain in the ass. I'll spend a reasonabe amount of money in one fatal swoop to easily install a turbo in the exhaust, some tubing going forward, and a 100 hp increase.

My list:
1. HID headlamps
2. Functional ram-air/shaker scoop in a carbon fiber or aluminum hood.
3. Last but least because it should have been a way obvious option in the first place....a 6sp close-ratio tremec tansmission to make it even more fun to drive and allow a higher rearend ratio so the damn thing doesn't turn 3k @ 70mph.

I aggree STS Great.I spent about 6 to 7 grand in mods on my jeep, enough to get GSM's Supercharger(would not get a Turbo) But I would have lost my warranty. The head work is all done on the inside so no one could tell unless they cracked it open.By the way,I had my dealer install it and they said it will not void the Warranty. All other mods could be removed eaisly. The only one that might be questional is the exhaust. If there was that big of a problem with my jeep I would spend the 30 min and throw back on the stock pipes. But if i did not care about that I would have the Super Charger on in a second.I would still have done most of the mods on have on anyway.

I don't want a handheld tuner if it means that everyone gets the generic halfass garbage that Superchips and Hypertech put out (not attempting to put SC and Hyp in the same bucket b/c I think SC is a much better product most of the time). I want a custom tune option like Wester's, Nelson, Ed Wright or Wait4me offers for Chevy's. If this comes as a programmer then great, but I don't mind swapping PCMs to get a better tune with some significant work on torque management, tranny programming, throttle response time on the drive by wire throttle (it feels slow like the 35ms non-sport mode on my M5, sport mode changed it to 10ms and that's much more fun). I don't know if the power steering is electric or controlled by the PCM (again, it was on my M5) but if it is I'd like a heavier steering feel.

I'd love to see some suspension options that give ride height options like a Bilstein PSS9 or Ground Control setup.

Agreed, but generic tuning is better than factory tuning. I would start with a handheld programmer, and graduate to custom tuning once the DCX code is cracked.

EDIT: Somebody on this board mentioned SCT tuning was working on a product for the SRT8 GC, and it would be available in September. Any updates?

Took the words right out of my mouth. Definately they should of hooked us up with a Ram-Air hood, those Charger guys got lucky :)... And we definatelty need a Hand Held Programmer, I wish Hypertech would step up and make one of those HyperPac's for us. And supposedly GSM is working on the suspension angle. :)

My super wish list:

*The PortedPerformance 426 stroker kit with 8:1 pistons(maybe some JE pistons)
*a shoe horn to stuff a Garrett GT42R under the hood somehow(GT42 kit please!!)
*tranny mod to handle 900+ ponies!!

My list is REAL SHORT. Some means to reprogram the PCM & the TCM. I don't care if it's a chip, a handheld tuner, new computers, or black magic.

My last, best secondhand info was that SCT Tuning was well along on the developement of their handheld tuner. I sure hope so!! This f#$&ing Torque Management is spoiling my fun & annoying the sh!t out of me.

Yes I would like to have a choice when it comes to supercharge kit from different tuners, but which one of them will have top performance and to be daily driven?

Well, definitely what most of you guys want.
The super charger is top of the list.

But what I would really like would be so cool that I think the Jeep would be a great segue for. I would like to take my GCSRT8 into the shop and have it converted into an off road package in little time. I'd call it winterizing my Jeep :D Then have it transformed back into Street Profile in a few hours of work sometime later. The SDRT8! That's Street and Dirt Racing Technology!

The Mod that would truly be refreshing would be this: A company that offers an upgrade & has an independent group do "Before & After" dyno's backed up with five "Before & After" 1/4 mile passes. I realize it's probably unrealistic but IMO the best mod would therefore be an Honest, Upfront company that treats us as if they understand we work hard for our money & would like to see them work hard to earn theirs, LOL. Any takers?

Thats what am talking about..
not like some companies, who fools you around, take your money in advance and keep you waiting for months, and at the end you just see nothing, just promises and promises and bla bla bla...

We need some Header/ Free Flow Cat set ups to go with the CAI kits...and more Cat Back System choices would be nice as well...it's a start until some decent tuning comes out! For those not willing to have their engines torn apart or simply cant afford it, or just want to add bolt on items (but then again we shelled out 45-50k already, whats another 10g?)

+1 Cut to the chase. A turbo kit is the quickest way to 600+hp on the stock internals. Somebody has got to step up with a flash-tuner. Add a high stall convertor and look out.

I read a piece on that exhaust turbo and kind of put it out of my mind after that, sounds intriguing.
Can you direct me somewhere I can read more on it?

The JH link was in response to viol8r's question on turbo information. I'm interested in a turbo kit and I'm familiar with all the drama surrounding JH. If there is another source with experience turbocharging a 6.1 I'd like to know about them.
