Just wondering what you guys think is the norm that should be allowed when you drop your rides off for service? I dropped mine off on sunday for the following issues.

Tranny O leak
New brake pads
oil change
Window TSB
Parking brake recall.

When I picked it up I noticed 6 miles were tacked on to my jeep. Now am I being anal here, but I think thats too many for the above service.

I would be happy with that. Last time I took mine in they put 60 miles on it. I went off on them, all I got was a free tank of gas out of it!

Seems like a drive around the block, no more than 1 mile would be enough to figure it out. By the way Godfather, how many miles did you have on your JCG SRT8 before changing out your break pads?

The wife has taken hers in 3 times

1. Tire Fix, service guys (2) took it for a test drive for over twenty minutes, while my wife waited.

2. TSB Brakes, service guy test drove it and was back in 10 minutes.

3. Oil change and told them no test drive approved.

The dealership does a good job and I hope they do not abuse the Jeep. As long as no damage to the truck, I really don't care if they take it out. No way would I accept a 50-100 KM test drive.

Dude that is simply ridiculous and obvious joyriding taking place. Did they go to lunch while they were at it:eek: When my jeep goes in I make it very clear that NOBODY is to drive my jeep except for in and out of the service bay.

Six miles is nothing...Don't worry about it...I am sure they drove it due to the fact that they changed out the pads...Pretty Normal. They way I look at it is that no one can drive it harder than me.:D

gotta bed the brakes, right?

last time I took mine it to have the bumper painted it came back +15miles

"The body shop is off site" -sure it is

in fact, this is what I dread most about taking my car in, I know they are going to rip it. Just got a recall about some ABS sensor, requiring me to take it in. any of you guys get that recall?

I could not agree more. But what could I do? I let them know I will never bring it there again and I would be sure to warn anyone looking at buying or needing service to stay away from them. In case any one wants to know it was Central Florida Chrysler,Dodge,Jeep. Stay the hell away from them!!

I got the recall, only took them fifteen minutes to do, just had to do something with the computer. I haven't had any issues, but I didn't before either.

had my truck in for some tire work before, the tire store is accross the street from where I work. I see a guy pull out in my truck, turn on the service road, and is out of site???? He returns 15 minutes later. Long story short, didnt have to pay for any of the work done. Anyone who can have the opportunity to drive one of these beasts would take it!!!

I had my discovery returned with a condom wrapper in it.

Exactly...........my Jeep will not stay at the dealership unless I am there. If I have to take time out of work and sit there all day then I will. The service manager has been told that no one takes my truck off the lot unless I am in it. Do not trust strangers with your $45,000.00 vehicle. You can not trust anyone!

Haha those guys are a joke. I went in there before I bought my jeep to look at a used 06 they had just gotten in. I talked to a salesman about it and he says they will take 39k for it. (this jeep had 25k miles on it and was not maintained well). So the guy goes to get the key as I was walking around it and I notice the front right part of the valance is completely caved in. His excuse when he finally comes back with the key "Oh yeah the golf cart backed into it yesterday". I said ok fine so what kind of deal can we work out here with 25k miles and a caved in bumper? His reply "39k and we will fix the bumper free". I turned around and walked away:confused:

I could care less if Viper Dan takes mine out for testing after he has worked on it.
I would rather he is confident everything is perfect.
That said, I would not trust another tech. with it.

Six miles is definitely reasonable. It they repaired a leak, they have to drive it to ensure it doesn't leak again. Sixty miles is a little excessive without special circumstances and your permission. I had mine at the dealer two weeks ago and they had to take it to their sister store at least 30 minutes away. I was a nervous wreck, but it didn't appear they beat on it. The fuel economy gauge was higher than I'm used to seeing when I got back in. They put a total of 30 miles on to check the limp mode deal with the shifter. It's fixed, so I'm happy and don't care.

6 miles is nothing. They must let the tranny warm up fully to check for leaks. That's 3 miles away and 3 miles back.

Thats why when i go in 4 service or 4 anything i wait there and if they have to test drive i go with them.

I don't even check and could really care less. No one is going to beat it harder than I do.

Which dealer did you take it to. I don't want to have the same problem. I have 2100 miles now on my 08.

Ha Ha I should have read farther down.. Found the dealer... Thanks for the FYI on CFC Jeep that is where I was going to take it.

They put 6 miles on it for an oil change?

Holy sh*t I would have choked my dealer. Do you know what they can do in 6 miles?

Oh wait I do my own oil changes nevermind.

I'm with the anal crew here. I also told my service person that I don't want anyone driving it crazy. There are young guys working at the dealer I go to and they LOVE my truck. The last time I took it for an oil change I was sitting outside, behind me I heard a nice sounding ride jetting down the road - YUP, it was some schmuck in my jeep with the hammer to the floor. No respect!
