After lurking here for a bit, we finally took the plunge and took delivery of an '06 GC SRT8. Employee pricing does exist, you just have to research a great deal to get it.

In Southern California, EP is virtually impossible. In fact, test driving a new vehicle requires a full credit application to be run to make sure you could purchase the car if you liked it. I had to find a used one on a lot to take the test drive.

I was debating to wait for the 2007's, as they have some nifty new features. However, EP is a great deal, and I figured that the 2007's would be very expensive when they are released.

When I started to research finding a car (none in So CA) I knew I had to look in the outlying areas. I found a dealer in Northern California, Vacaville to be exact, that would commit to selling the car with EP. I got the deal in writing, filled out a credit app and returned it to him via fax, and even had him guaranty the amount for our trade, all by e mail, fax or phone.

Our fully loaded (SRT1 pkg, REC nav, rear DVD Entertainment) was sold to us for $40,993, before tax, license, etc. Unbelievable. Also, one of the best dealer experiences I've ever had. Since everything was worked out ahead of time, the whole transaction took only an hour or so to get done. Too bad they are not local to us.

My wife and I did the whole thing yesterday, 425 miles each way. We were exhausted, but totally satisfied.

Since it's her car, she is totally jazzed!

I also found an Inferno Red car, fully loaded, at Central Valley Motors in Modesto that was willing to sell for EP. If someone is interested, let me know and I will give contact information for them.

We look forward to participating more on the forum, and changing our handle soon.

Is it bothersome that your wife has a sweeter ride?;)

Seriously, nice decision on EP. In 20 years, the 06's will be more sought after than the 07's.

If a dealer did that to me I would tell hime to go F#%K himself!!

Congrats on the purchase! I got EP as well, but had to drive 11 hours for it. Somehow I knew that drive would not be too bad... :)
