: Lowering the car's suspension...

Fellow SRTer's, as much as I love my brand new SRT8, I would prefer the body to be lower over the wheels. I feel for a performance car, the gap between the tyre and the wheel arches is too much. The GCSRT8 looks fantastic from front and back, but not as good side on.

1. Is it possible to do?
2. How will it affect handling, acceleration, performance, etc?
3. Are there any downsides?

Has anyone else done this? Can someone post pics?
What kind of cost would be involved?

Regards

the only way so far is to cut the springs. I would suggest against it

The only issue I see with lowering the car is how careful you will have to be about bottoming the front out. I have trouble enough as it is, let alone lowering the front over an inch. Its up to you, I would love to do this but I'm too afraid of constantly having to have my front bumper repainted.

Quad I know exaclty what you mean. I told my buddy to lower his Jeep too. The gap is just nasty! It would look killer with a 1.5" drop. Im postive it will handle much better. The only downside would be scraping that front fascia....Let us know if you go this route!

I share your point of view. Too much space between fender and tire.

Options:

1) Lower only the rear as the car is rather taller and as such slanted toward the front. Lowering the rear would level it. I would like to lower the front BUT the fascia will sooner rather than later get damaged.

2) Lower both front and rear BUT add tires that have a higher side wall. If you lower it an 1.5 inches and get a tire that is 1.5 inches taller sidewall you should end un with the car being the same hight BUT have less wheel/fender space.

Good news on the Eibach spring application. It's the first I've heard of it.

Good luck and post pics when you do it.:)

The ad on this web site -- EXCLUDING SRT8 -- Give the Eibach folks some time though and they'll have a system out for this truck.
