Been following it pretty closely on TV the last few days. Terrible what is going on there. I hope all the SD members, family and friends are ok

One of my good friends was evacuated Sunday night and he still can't get any closer than 20 miles to his house. He knows it's still standing as his answering machine picks up. The po po tell him there is still no water running to his town (Ramona). My sis was booted from her house in Del Mar/Carmel Canyon for two days and was allowed to go back yesterday. Everything outside is trashed with ashes.

I was evacuated monday at about 6amish, was let back in Wed. night. Fire was stopped about 50 yards from my condo (in 4s ranch/RB area, real close to westwood, where a lot of homes burnt). My parents live in Poway, and the fire stopped about 100 yards from their house. I guess we were both pretty lucky. I know about 5 or 6 people that had lost their homes, pretty sad but atleast everyone got out ok.

I can tell you though the jeep works great as a tent, I slept in mine with the seats down on monday night.
