I feel like a retard. I'm trying to shut off the seat belt chime and I can't. I read the book followed the direction but still have know luck. I even had the wife come out and try and also my budy next door. I have read repair manuals for years as a tech this one stumps me. I guess I should take it to the dealer.
Has anyone else tried to do this.
THANKS

Do not disable, buckle-up!

or...

1) Turn up the music volume.
2) Just ignore it. The chime will stop after a half-hour:)

Also, I have read most dealers will not disable.

I did it first try. Same with HomeLink/rolling code garage door opener.
My method:
•Have 1 beer.
•Turn off all radios/music/distractions.
•Have a stop watch.
•Have the wife read the manual while you do what it says.

•When it's done & working, finish the 6-pack.

Funny thing is I did have the wife read and I did what she said.
Just was wondering if the book was right.

I did it on the first try by following the book. I'd say let someone else try it one more time before having your dealer look at it.

Resume speed posted this some weeks ago. I'm not sure if its the same as the manual

The Correct procedure is:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and buckle the driver's seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition key to the run position. Do not start the engine.
3. Wait for the seatbelt lamp to go out.
4. Unbuckle and buckle the seat 3 times within 10 seconds ending with the seatbelt buckled (be sure the seatbelt light cycles on/off while buckling).
5. Turn the ignition key off and a single chime will be heard to confirm the programming

The way I turn mine off is to buckle it up.....maybe it's me but why would you want it turned off?

i always buckle up also... but when you're making a minor drive or just getting home and wanna park it's nice to have the option to unbuckle without that chime playing notes with your nurves!!! lol

The steps above do work. I too firmly believe in wearing a seat belt but have shut mine off.
