: Having my dealer turn on reverse tilt mirror with StarScan today...any other ideas?
3grx7 10-19-2007, 01:00 PM I asked my service advisor to hook up the reverse mirror today...before i head over there, are there any other things I should ask her to hook up while it's plugged in to the StarScan?
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Ian

I don't think you can do the reverse mirror funtion on the 2007 or 2008 models...
Blown-WK 10-19-2007, 01:57 PM What is the reverse mirror function? Where the mirrors tilt downward in reverse? Is that something that can be programmed into the 06?
Inferno SRT8 10-19-2007, 02:01 PM What is the reverse mirror function? Where the mirrors tilt downward in reverse? Is that something that can be programmed into the 06?
Yes the 2006 has the option.
3grx7 10-19-2007, 02:30 PM You are correct....unfortunately not an option on the 08's.
Blown-WK 10-19-2007, 02:51 PM Yes the 2006 has the option.
What do you mean by that? Sorry to sound dumb but I have never seen this mentioned in my quests through the forum...lol. Does it have to be enabled by the chrysler computer at the dealer?

Yes, the "tilt mirrors in reverse" function must be enabled via the Starscan.
Edit: applicable for 2006-2008 models.
larryc7777 10-19-2007, 03:05 PM Here's one for the wish list.
My 01 Audi S4 had a feature that the dealer was able to turn on that was VERY cool. If you would hold the unlock button on the key fob for about 5 seconds, all of the windows & the sunroof would open. It was really great to be able to start releasing the built up heat even before you reached the vehicle. I wonder why manufacturers don't have convenience features like that readily available for use.

Not all of us do.:(

Yes the dealer has to enable it thru starscan.
mingoglia 10-19-2007, 10:59 PM It sucks that we don't have reverse tilt on the '08 (and now it sounds like '07 doesn't either?). It's really a very simple and basic thing but is so helpful for those of us that typically back in to spots. It's nice being able to see the lines on both side while parking to make sure you're perfectly centered... not to mention being able to see that corner curb of the island in the parking lot when backing...

This may seem like a no brainer but you could just program the memory button #2 for the tilt in the side mirrors and when you park you can just hit the button???

Yeah, some have suggested that and I thought it was a great idea... the only problem is this is my wife's primary ride and she's button one and I'm button two already.

Besides that, you have to stop, put it in park, unbuckle your belt, hit the memory button, then wait for the mirrors to reposition before you can back up. Is there a way to have the system activate without being in park and unbuckled? It would be nice if you could hit the memory button ahead of time so the mirrors can situate before hand.

My Mazda Speed6 also does that, didnt know that untill I came out to my car one evening after it had been snowing because the alarm went off and noticed all of the windows were down with couple inches of snow on the seats. I always put my key in the back pocket of my pants. So I must have leaned up against a corner of a table just right for it to depress the unlock button and then again for it to hit the lock button and arm the car. Since the windows were down somone had tried to open the door and the alarm went off. Luckily it scared the thief away because I was out there in a matter of seconds and nothing was missing.

Mine was like that until I took it back to the dealer and complained. They replaced the servo's on the affected mirror and now they work fine. This is a warranty repair!

I had them change the fog lights on with the high beams. They can do that with the starscan also.Someone here on the forum has the correct procedure for the change. They charged me $37.00 to do it,but it was worth it.
magic32 02-13-2009, 01:36 PM why didn't chrysler enable this feature from the factory. it does not make sense to leave options on the table. sound dumb to me.

Too many warranty claims due to mirrors not always returning to original setting. After silverbullet filed his warranty claim the feature was nixed.
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 02-13-2009, 03:49 PM it can be done on all models, however i would advise against it as some member have done this and in the end have disabled it again due to it being a big PITA.

kinda funny they made you pay for it considering that doing that is illegal...could ultimately come back on them especially since you have record of that service being performed...hmm. and no i am NOT RICK G...i have it done, but it was free of charge even tho they were sweating me about it being illegal.
Captain McFunk 02-19-2009, 11:56 AM this is the main feature that i miss from my 300c....wish it worked on here without problems....
PROBABLE CAUZ 02-19-2009, 01:30 PM this is the main feature that i miss from my 300c....wish it worked on here without problems....
yeah that was a feature that i loved on my 300c. i was gonna get it done on my jeep but to many problems:mad:
SoonToBeSRT 02-19-2009, 11:19 PM so whats are all these problems exactly? the mirror wont change or its loose? Im confused, ow could this create a problem that didnt already exist, unless it dosnt work, then you guys worded it funny?? haha im j/c as always lol
SrtJake 07-12-2009, 10:19 PM Sorry to bring this back, but it's better than starting another one.My friend has an 06 and he can change auto tilt mirrors on and off in the instrument cluster menu.Couldn't believe it when my 09 didn't have the feature.
My 08 mirrors tilt in reverse...I had them do it using starscan. My mirrors do return to the correct position after I get out of R
I think maybe I have adjusted once or twice but I have had this feature for over 10K
Also I got front video enabled via starscan, The jeep has to be in park but you can see video in the back TV and the front headunit at the same time.
All of this cost nothing...I threw the guy 20. And I donot have any problems. I donot regret it at all
Kausekaos 07-13-2009, 07:51 AM My sister has it on her suv and I hate it. I find it to be a PITA. I hate parking it.
Billmoe 07-20-2009, 07:48 PM I did the reverse/tilt feature and I find it a PITA. I almost always have to move the mirrors back to the original location. Mostly on the drivers side. I'm having it undone next service stop. I should have listened to forum members! (just like drone with the Borla S...it is bad IMO...I should have gotten the Borla T). But I do like setting off car alarms when I remote start---it's like they're serenading my rig as he prepares to leave:)
gottspd 07-20-2009, 08:26 PM sorry to go off topic, but Billmoe, do you have an aftermarket intake on your rig?
I had reverse tilt enabled on my 08. I had problems with it resetting correctly a few times. Then I found out about Key Pairing, where the settings automatically reset to the default when the key is inserted and haven't had to reset the mirrrors since.

please explain more. how does the pairing help with the reverse tilt?
The majority of time when I'm using reverse is when I am parking. When I would get back in my car, 15% of the time I would notice the side mirrors not exactly back to their preset position. With Key Paring, you can pair your keys to your presets. You get two keys and two presets, so theoretically, you can have your key set to preset 1, and your wife can have key 2 paired to preset 2. So when I start my car with my key, it reverts to setting 1.
cyanideg 07-26-2009, 09:02 PM IS this tilt function avail on the 09? Also can civilians just buy a starscan and do a bunch of cool stuff, then pass it around to others?
EDIT:
Oh I see: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chrysler-StarScan-Tool_W0QQitemZ390016527053QQcmdZViewItem
eddiefig 07-26-2009, 09:20 PM There should just be a firmware update to put on the Diablo where you can change little things like this. Reverse mirror tilt, fogs on w/ high beams, activate rear fogs and various other easter eggs.
cyanideg 07-26-2009, 09:39 PM Can I ask you what the activate rear fogs would do since there are no cables going to the actual bulbs? Do you know if the trinity has these functions avail to turn on like the predator??
silverbullet 10-15-2010, 01:08 AM Are you kidding me? LOL They nixed this because of my Canadian Claim?! no way.
