The SRT8 is the first performance car that I've owned. Before this, I had a 1995 Range Rover LWB (old body style) and while it was an absolute tank I never had to worry about speeding (0-60 in about 3 days). So the first time I got the SRT8 I knew that I was in trouble and would need some assistance not losing my license.
After a ton of research and asking around on the forum, I decided upon the Escort Passport SRX. For those that don't know, it is custom installed and has a great radar detector and front and rear laser shifters that basically scramble any laser that is shot at you. I called the authorized reps in my area (pretty much just Tweeter) and the same store quoted me 4 different prices and then told me three times that they had the parts in stock and to drive up (1hr each way) when the parts were actually still in their Chicago warehouse (shocking that they are going out of business!). About to give up hope, I saw a posting by Josh at Fully Loaded. While his shop is 2hrs away from DC I decided to give them a shot as they were active on the forum and seemed to really be trying to help out the SRT community.
Josh took a small down payment and had the unit delivered in time for me coming to his shop. Already I knew this would be better than dealing with Tweeter. When I got to his shop I asked if there was a rental car company nearby and one of the owners throws me the keys to one of his personal cars - a sick murdered out Denali with rims that were larger than my girlfriend. The only thing he said to me was "try not to curb those rims."
On the way home, I noticed a slight issue regarding the install. Josh said he would immediately send a flat bed down to get the car and get it back to me. As the flat bed guy messed us around for a while, Josh PERSONALLY drove his installer down to DC (2hrs+ each way) last night after work and corrected the issue that I had while I was at a hockey game. For all other small businesses out there, please take note - the kind of customer service displayed by FLA is not only how you get clients, but how you keep them for life.
Sorry for the novel, but Josh and his crew did such a good job (pics attached - can post better pics once I clean my car if people want) and went above and beyond when it came to customer service that I thought he deserved this kind of praise. Plus, it was my first mod and I'm now hooked. Online right now ordering the Bwoody CAI.
