Srt600 turbo system???
WHAT A JOKE!!!
My jeep has been back and forth / back & forth to Hennessey's in TX for more than a year (sent 8/24/06 it is now 10/17/2007). Nothing but BS. The jeep has not performed!! I spent $30,000, the turbo was blown when it arrived on the transporter, my wheels & tires where stolen by Hennessey, scratches on fenders & hood, jeep shuts off on the go, & accelerator sticks wide open, I did get an inbox filled with BS.
I found a article in March 2007 CarandDriver on MY JEEP (specs sheet & pictures of my license plate). Why did car & driver have my jeep? Who tested it, did they scratch it or blow the turbo? Why would anyone do 10+ hard launches with only 1 mile on the new motor?

Not surprised dude.....sorry to hear it, but this is no surprise. Mr. Hennessey is phuggin joke of a tuner. I have yet to hear one positive comment about him from ANYBODY, in my two years of being into the modern Mopar community. Do a search on any of the SRT, LX, Charger, or 300 forums. And you will find this guy is a total looooooooser. Sorry man, hope you get at least one ounce of justification out of this, but it doesn't seem like you will.....or anyone else for that matter......:(

Hmmm-3 total posts, this is the first thread started and he owns a SRT-8 JEEP thats been Hennessey'ed. So, you registered to gripe to us about something you could have avoided if you did a search? Are you sure you own it or maybe it was just a bad dream? :confused:

We all know Hennessy is a douchebag that has been accused of similar things in the past, why not give this guy the benefit of the doubt?

Hell, when I first came to the SRT boards around a year ago (remember that 11pg+ thread on the blue site Walter? ;)) there were nearly as many disillusioned fans as there were realists. Thankfully it appears the majority at least has now caught on.

Good old JH, the stories never change.......as far as im concerned anybody that would spend $30,000 with any company for 200 HP is f*ckin stupid. I mean sh*t for 30 grand you could take the motor out throw it in a ditch and go buy a brand new engine professionally built with 800-1000 Hp

I know someone whom I went to high school with who recently sent his GC to JH and paid 15k-20k ? for the 550hp motor he sells. Another friend of mine happened to be at a local tuner and the guy's GC was there because he wasn't sure he got his 550hp. He told me it dyno'd at 445hp. BTW my friend who was there, was getting his Ls1 GTO heads,cam,nitrous - tune. It ran 10.60's on MT street tires first run! I USED to blow his doors. Awesome ride!

Going back 5-7 years ago on the vette boards it was the same thing. He is a scum of a human being, yet he stays in business. Go figure.

I'm not defending Hennessey, but that equates to roughly a 20% driveline loss. Some people on here are seeing nearly 20% loss on a stock set-up. If you're friend thinks JH's 550hp package meant 550 whp, then your friend was mistaken.

I agree, it's pathetic they still even invite him. However, it allows me to say with a smile that when C&Ds upcoming (few mos from now) tuner/supercar shootout hits shelves, you'll find the mega buck Hennessey TT SRT10 getting its ass whooped by a stock longblock TT Ford GT ala Heffner. :D

I ordered those plug ins for my o2 sensors for $200.When I got them they were 2 things I could pick up at LOWES.Good thing they came COD and the box was open when it came.What a loser.

This shouldn't have happened, and I realize (sorry) that you're out more than $30k, you've got a messed up Jeep that was worth $45k when you bought it.

But what a tale to tell! If I were you I'd be buying as many back issues of that mag as you can find. You could autograph them and sell them on e-bay to pss'd off Hennesy customers and make a fortune! :D

If that did happen you sould sue. Texas has great consumer protection laws. One specifically called the DTPA (deceptive trade practices act) allows you to get 3 times your damages and attorney fees. It should be pretty easy to find a houston atty to do it on a contengency.

with all the money Hennessey steals from "customers" he can probably afford some damn good lawyers.

John Hennessey stays in business for the same reason that the used car business on the corner does.. There's a sucker born every minute. I mean that very generally of course... just about everybody likes cars.

Lots of people out there like cars, who don't know squat about them, much more than where to put the gas and who to call when they break down... that doesn't take away from the fact that the want to go fast though... or that they have that 6 or 7 figure bank account.

To a lot of people $30K is nothing, and when they want a turn-key car to go fast in they go to what they "think" is the best... pop open a car and driver, read a schpiel about JH and there ya go...

If you dont know jack about cars but want a custom go-fast, then JH is for you, becuae you dont' know any better. All JH needs is some competition... a dedicated MOPAR tuner who delivers the real deal, who can get recognized in the magazines.

It will take more than competition. It takes competition willing to spend $ on advertising.

I have a 2003 Mercury Marauder that has been modified with an Eaton supercharger. The kit was engineered by a company called Trilogy in Dearborn, MI of all places.

It's completely transformed the Mercury from an entertaining family car to something that will run with any stock SRT8 you can find. (I still bought an SRT8... love 'em both!).

The Marauder has better manners than my Jeep. The engineering in the kit is incredible. It cost $5995 + installation, but it bumped the hp from 300 to 450. I can't believe none of the car mags picked up on it... a 4 door Mercury capable of high 12's is a pretty entertaining machine. But magazines make their money from advertisers. Think about it, your subscription barely covers the postage!

So, find a worthy Mopar builder that will advertise and JH will be blown out of the water. Until then, I'm afraid it'll be more of the same.

Yep, unfortunately sometimes this happens, and I've seen it more regarding JH than any other issue. I think these guys that come on with hit and run posts like this believe they are doing a service by providing a caution to readers about their experience, but unfortunately they don't do their case any justice by abandoning their thread and leaving doubt as to their credibility.

Please keep posts on topic... if the OP doesn't return we'll just let the thread die a natural death.
