I no longer have to perss ACCEPT each time. Simply putting it in gear and rolling makes it disappear. I just updated from v.556 a few days ago and never tried it, but I don't have to press it anymore!

Yes.. and still no programming of street address in NAV while driving, but you can voice input a destination which is remarkably accurate but a bit slow..

They have lots of stuff. I don't have the attachments to try any of the hacks yet as I don't want to kill my 2 day old baby but apparently they have some good stuff to eliminate some issues.

For the REC unit (the previous Nav), there is.. but I haven't found a hack yet for the MyGIG unit in the '08's to enable that feature.. unless someone knows where to find one?

Testing a MyGIG radio P/N 5064401AH and software v9.561 in the '08 Grand Cherokee, the nag screen comes on for a few seconds and then automatically disappears!! No user intervention is required!!

Since others with 9.561 have reported they still have to push the "Accept" button, I am thinking that maybe this feature is a change in the hardware. The first 2008 WK's used P/N 5064401AG. Sometime in mid-September (or possibly earlier) radios were superseded by AH.

If anyone out there has an "AH" radio I would like to know if your nag screen disappears on its own. At this point I am not sure if the change was implemented with radio "AH" and application v9.556, or "AH" and v9.561...

A friend of mine who owns a Lexus just told me that the latest update for his nav radio changed his nag screen operation to automatically disappear after a few seconds. I hope this is a trend as the nag screen is something I have hassled with for years and I have hated it like everyone else out there.

I'll check mine later- it was built less then 3 weeks ago per the build sheet.

No hacks as of yet... but, if you can convince your dealer to hit a couple of buttons on his scan tool the option is there to turn the "view DVD in motion" restriction on or off. It is illegal in some states, but not in others hence the scan tool option.

The main reason for the update was to address the iPhone issues, which it fixed along with a few other bugs.

Unzip the files to your Hard drive and burn them to a CD data disc:

1. Data Disc name needs to be NTG4_9.561

2. Root directory should contain only one folder and two files:

BECKER (folder)
CD_INFO.CDI
CONFIG.CDI

Load the CD in your MyGIG radio and the update will automatically start once the disc is reconized.

No crap, can the scan tool do this? I have no desire to watch a dvd while driving but having the ability to quickly use the dvd menu or fast forward parts of a dvd that are skipping (I have a 4yo and 2yo so some of their dvd's are scratched) would be nice.... so in other words, glance down while driving.

Oh, and I forgot..... Change in my reply earlier. I tested the unit today after having updated a few days ago from .556. At NO TIME did I have to press the "ACCEPT" button. The page showed up, but after either putting it in Reverse or Drive and begin rolling, it disappeared. I see there are maybe a few versions of the MyGig and I am not sure which mine is, but I know it was an early build as it was one of the first 08's in Houston (if not THE first)

IF you have the rear DVD option, then yes.

Ok, that makes sense, the new software adds what is one of the best features you could ask for, those nag screeen are such a pain! I would have paid hundreds of $ for this "fix"!

Jeep includes the latest software at the time of production, which could lag by several months from the latest that's available. The current software was just released this month and probably won't appear in production vehicles for another month or two.

got my 08 3 days ago, just updated to latest update following the instructions.

The "NAG" screen now goes away automatically.. now if i could just permenatly remove it and make DVD play while i move :D (trust me i wont be watching it when i move, i care to much about my car to crash :D)

I just installed the update as well and am pleased to say I no longer have to press "Accept" every time i get in the beast.

Well my radio went out today. Got in, and I could get no sound or anything. Took it up to the dealer to be fixed under warranty... I just wanted to drop it off but I guess Chrystler does not provide loaner/rental cars for warranty work, what bullcrap! They ran the star scan and finally got it working, gave me the truck back so that I could leave and get on with my day since they had all the information they needed. Apparently Chrystler wants me to deal with it until it does it again to be replaced, what bullcrap.

I can't tell you how close I am to selling this thing. I got it so I would not have to worry about anything and have something nice and reliable. It sickens me that the quality control and the fact that they absolutely do not help when they know their product is messed up.

Okay...I did upload new update 9.556 to 9.561 into mygig and so far so good. It went smoothly and seemed to improve a few things that I can tell. No more having to press the "nag" button...goes off by itself. Mygig touch screen has a faster transition to other menus and pre-sets. Also, I did notice that when you touch the u-connect button the voice does not tell you which phone you are connected to. It just goes right into having you tell it what you want it to do???? Seems faster. That is what I have noticed so far with the latest update.:)

i had a similar problem to texanaviator. my screen just died but it came back on. im gonna try and do that update tomorrow (just burned disc) and see if that stops the problem.

and by the way i have had lots of cars over the last few years and the service is not a byproduct of the manufactuer but varies from dealer to dealer. goto another dealer and your results might improve.

I was having a similar problem. Make sure your file names are correct and that there are only 3 files on the Disk. I had an extra folder that was the disk name, then the required 3 files inside that folder which is a no go.

Yo- burned the disk ,just drup the 3 itmes inside to disk. Awesome 15 mins later i'm on my iphone voice name calling-bamm- . No accept button at all-straight to radio etc.

How can I find out which radio I have, AG or AH? Do you know what is different between the AG and the AH?
