OK Gang, so I get a buddy of mine to drive me the 90 miles down to Kaiserslautern in his new '06 Audi S4 (nice ride by the way). We get there and I walk into the deliver show room looking for my Inferno Red SRT8. Instead I see a Black one sitting there. At first I was pissed that I wouldn't have the only one over here, but then I remembered that when I originally ordered this in November I ordered black and then a week later decided that I didn't want the pains of taking care of a black car again so I asked them to switch to red. Done. Well, someone screwed up, but all in all its OK. The black just looks evil!! Now about the blues... this was the worst (read slowest) drive back home I have ever had. EVERYONE passed me. I just kept saying to myself -- "its OK, they'll feel the rath of 6.1 liters soon enough". Well, it is now a new day and I have 323 miles on it. I had one nice romp from 35-80 MPH with and M5 and I had to back off. At least the guy smiled and waved! I finally busted the 100 MPH mark today and its smooth as silk. Very solid at speed and I can't wait to get another 1K on it so that I can explore the upper range of the speedo. I have enclosed a pic of the tight squeeze in my garage. For being great engineers, the Germans sure do build SMALL garages! I have only had one really nice garage here. I miss it!! More to follow.

now thats not such a small garage, I used to have one that size. Look at it this way... when you get a bigger one you'll really appreciate it!

I understand your pain. Your wait will pay off in dividends.

The last garage that I had here was "typical" German, which means it is ONLY big enough for the car and you have to be careful opening the doors!! Needless to say, I just put the bikes and my storage shelves in that one. Truth be told, the best garage to date was the one that I had in JAPAN of all places. We had an awesome home in northern Japan three years ago. I wish I could build a similar house/garage design when I eventually make it back to the U.S.
Till then I'll just have to make some Germans eat Hemi dust. :)

It was a rough wait for me too. But when the engine breaks in, it breaths so nice and really takes off.

I have a three car garage, but it's a 2 & 1. Pretty small squeeze for me as well. I'll get a pic up tommorrow.

Good on ya Mega! Have you owned the S60R since new? 6-M or Auto? I have driven both and was surprised how much I liked the 6-M. It has a nice firm shift action. The only real critism that I had with the car was what I felt was "numb" steering. That Volvo has one of the best interiors in the business and I couldn't really find fault with the rest of the car. There are several of them running around over here in Germany. Superb year-round autobahn rocket. There are several used rigs for sale right now -- they are going for about $26K-$31K. Anyway, I just can't seem to keep the SRT8 under 100 MPH on the bahn since I passed 300 miles. I haven't busted the 120 mark yet, but the truck is MORE than willing! Looks like the gas bill is going to be about $200 per month. Oh well, if you wanna play, you gotta pay! In some ways I even find the SRT8 to be more comfortable to drive at 100+ than my G35 Coupe, and the G35 is still one of the most entertaining and satisfying cars I have ever owned, great blend of performance and luxury.

14 Notice the long aluminum hurricane shutters on the left. Sucks balls putting those up.

The S60R was a real suprise when I test drove it. I wanted a fast car for the wife, but she didn't want a BMW our Audi or other "common" car. Extremely plush and comfy inside, with a sweet sound system (knocks pretty hard) - no complains.

It's got the triptronic (A), but it still moves. And I find that in "advanced" mode, this thing handles incredibly well - tight and responsive.

The only thing I hate is the turning radius is crap, and the back seat is for children only.

It looks like you and a couple other guys on the forum have de-badged the back end of your Jeep.... Correct? Also, I have seen some sites that show the GC SRT8 with aluminum pedals. Mine are just plain Jane GC. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks Masta Z, I just don't recall seeing it on the list of options when I ordered the Jeep. I just started a thread on this in the interior section of the forums....

Sorry, I just could'nt help myself -- I took the G35 to work today instead of the Jeep because the G35 has been waiting patiently for all the snow and salt to go away. It sure was nice getting rid of all that stress from the office with a nice little blast to 150 MPH. Kinda clears the head! Tomorrow's forecast is for clear skies and highs in the low 40's -- the Jeep may hit 125MPH..... I figure 500 break-in miles should have it sufficiently loosened up for that. I really don't know how you guys keep this thing at semi-legal U.S. speeds on the highway, it just loves 100+ MPH. Its not so fun to watch the gas gauge physically move though... :) I'll wait till the 1500-2000 mile mark to really let her rip. Stay tuned.

yes it's an option that all SRT-8's get. My SRT came with the factory work order, showing what options it came with, including the specific SRT instruction book package, painted door handles, and "bright pedals" as they're official called, which are supposed to be installed by the dealer. If your SRT didn't come with the bright pedals, then someone at the dealership probably stole them out of the car before you got it.

Thanks, I just went to NADA and looked up the SRT8 package and sure enough, right there it was "bright pedals". I'm thinking a trip to the dealer is in order tomorrow.
