: Insurance...
rcavalear 08-09-2006, 07:57 PM Hey all I was wondering about different insurance companies to go with when I pick up my SRT8 GC in two weeks. I know some insurance companies are more lienient on premiums on certain vehicles. Is there any well known company to go with that can give good low rates or even one that is actually competitive? Any help would be great. My driving record is perfect, married, homeowner, decent credit.

State Farm has me for $580 every 6 months. That is with $100 comprehensive and $500 collision. They said $520 if I went with $1000 collision, which I may do anyway...I am in GA, 30 yrs. old, and married.
MrHemi 08-10-2006, 06:31 AM I have Statefarm as well... $94 per month for full coverage, $250 deductible. 45 yo married male. Great company - been with them for years. If you have a teen in school (who is driving age) and is on the Honor Roll, you'll get a 10% discount.
zen garage 08-10-2006, 06:48 AM I self insure my jeep and the rest of my cars with the exception of the viper. The vipe is insured through grundy worlwide. I started using them about ten years ago for my collection. So far so good, but I have never made a claim against them.
As a side note I deal with accident claims all day long at work. I have found the best insurance company hands down to be state farm. State farm is very prompt with payment while other insurance companies drag their claims along up to 120 days. It is a daily occurance that I want to tell an adjuster to ***** off!

How do you insure your own vehicles... do you own the insurance company? Obviously with your collection insurance would be very important.
shodanusmc 08-10-2006, 10:01 AM USAA and Amica are the best. Second tier are Allstate and SF.
Juggernaught 08-10-2006, 10:19 AM I am paying $476 a year with Erie Insurance. I have $500 deductable and live in VA. I had an '02 Collector Edition T/A Convertible that was ~$900 a year through Erie. This Jeep is much faster than the T/A, but about half the insurance cost. ;)

Dr.Steve 08-10-2006, 12:15 PM I have to step in here to recommend Geico, even though I've had a few unfortunate tickets prior to growing up and joining the sheriff's dept, they are by far the cheapest for me and their customer service is out of this world, I was rear ended in my rsx-s 3 times and they got me my deductible and repair money quickly each time, and they're always great on the phone. . . as far as the cost, I'm at $1,076 for 6mo (ouch!), live in NJ, 28, married. . . but the rsx is only 40 bucks cheaper a year, I love my Jeep!
Krush 08-10-2006, 08:46 PM My jeep is owned by my company, I'm the only listed driver and we pay $785 a year for full coverage (250.00 deduct). I'm 33, single, no tickets/accidents in the last 14 years. We use Corkill Insurance and I believe West Bend is the actual provider for my car. Being in the construction industry, cars are cheap to insure, it costs me $15,000+ a year to insure 1 field worker against injury so 785 is nothing.
You guy will love this. One of my guys was up on a lift installing diffusers in a ceiling, he was hot, so he decided to go down and turned on the ceiling fans. Can you guess what happened next? Yep, he went back up on the lift and stuck his hollow head right in the friggin fan he just turned on! Then the insurance company actually paid this idiot, for being an idiot, and my insurance went up 100 grand the next year. I only wish the blades on that fan were a little sharper!
