Hey Everyone!

All Minnesotans and Midwesterners are invited to a Jeep SRT8 Meet, Greet & Cruise. We will be meeting at the Mall of America September 16, at 4:00 pm - specific location to be announced imminently.

We can meet, grab some food at MOA, ogle our Jeeps, and then dominate some Twin Cities pavement. This is a great opportunity to compare and contrast vehicles, share Mopar knowledge, and deplete tire tread.

Please post in this thread if you plan to come. Also, if you have any questions, post here or PM me.

LOCATION: The office complex, 2001 Killebrew Drive, is an optimal place to meet: it is safe, roomy, easy to find, and actually closer to MOA than the regular parking lots. It is located behind MOA, right next to TGIF.

This is the only easy-to-find parking I can guarantee - once you see the location, you will not be disappointed. Also, if we want, we can just meet there, and find parking somewhere else.

See you there!

Not a bad spot, actually, 35W, just south of there opens up to a 75 MPH limit. :D

I'm pretty sure that I am in, unless something pops up. Hopefully the weather will be good! :)

Going to try and make it, Might have a wedding that weekend. It would be cool to do a cruise down the river sometime in the fall(HWY 61). Stay the night some where and enjoy life with a SRT

Told my buddy, 'the Swede', about 'the Gathering' last night and he wants to come along for the ride! Last time I let him drive my truck, he took two crotch-rockets off a stop-light on 62!

When they caught up to us, at ~65 mph, when he let up, one of the guys was doing a full wheelie! :D

Think he surprised them, I don't think they were expecting a Jeep to absolutely launch like that! But they caught on pretty quickly! They pulled off a mile up the road and waved goodbye, guess they appreciate the run. :)

MOA isn't near 35W. We'll see if I can make it as never viewed any other SRT Vehicles so far in the Twin Cities. My salesman sold 3 more JGC SRT8 at Bloomington Chrysler and one more is still coming. You guys should come to Rock Falls Drag Strip and see how they run on the Drag Strip. I'm going a little later in the fall, when the temps are cooler. A Sat Test & Tune would work, $69 entry fee, and roast the hides! Let me Know! Gene

That is a good idea, Gene. I would be down for some 1/4 mile action, what do the rest of you guys think?

MOA sounds good to me for an initial meet.

If some want to go to the drag strip later this fall, then they can plan it at that time.

Hi Gene, not a big deal, but, I work near both, in Bloomington, so I'm a little confused by this:
MOA isn't near 35W.
What's the definition of 'near', because it looks pretty close on a map:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=38.826758,70.488281&q=mall+of+america&ie=UTF8&ll=44.863048,-93.245258&spn=0.068015,0.137672&om=1

 ;) :)

That is a good point, Bob. Perhaps fall is better for the track, temperatures will be cooler, and we will have more time to procure and install accessories:) Whatever you guys adjudicate is fine by me...

I drive this route frequently and it is exhilarating with an SRT8. An October or November cruise would be picturesque. Maybe next time...

Burnsville Mall is very near to 35W. MOA is near the airport and right not far. I just wanted to verify which mall not being mean. MO We need a SRT Club open to all SRT Vehicles, all are part of DC SRT Family and several SRT4's are running fast too! A dealership sponsored meeting place would be fine, parts discounts, maybe a lift to use to inspect all the bling exhaust systems, cold air kits etc. MO Gene

We do not want to go overboard for the first meet. A central meeting place where people on this board can meet, greet, eat, and cruise will suffice for now.

However, an SRT Club for Minnesotans is something I have pondered; it would be a lot of fun. Contact me if you need help advancing this idea.

No worries, I was just a little confused... Yes, Burnsville Center is close, too! :)

Just want to confirm the details from the earlier posts and keep this on everyones radar as I will be on vacation for about 2 weeks:

I'm pretty sure that I am still in! I'll go ahead and give it a 99.9% probability. :)

Hmm, ran into a black JC SRT8 on Thursday morning at 100/Normandale, he was sitting in front, at the light, I was turning left. I waved, but I'm not sure he saw me, did not wave back... Anyone here?

We are a week away!

So far, we have five definites and a couple maybes - not a bad percentage considering there are less than 30 owners in the metro area.

Also, I think Gene (SRTJeep) is coming and bringing a few friends, but I do not know for sure because he mainly posts on the blue site.

See everyone next Saturday :)

Yes I'm planning to be there. I know that spot very well. Take Cedar Ave S. to Killebrew Exit. Park near Kil. Gene PS. I'm planning to drag race Sept. 24th (Sunday Muscle Car Race Day $37 entry fee) I'll be trying some new combinations! PM. me for any details as I usually eat breakfast at Perkins (Hudson) before and arriving at the track around 8:30 am. Tech and give it Hell!

Well, we met and had the cruise. Attending were:

Black_SRT8
SRTJeep
MWH1965
MNBob
Silver300CSRT8

We had good conversation and a noise demo of a Corsa system at the Mall Of America. From there, MWH1965 suggested a super cruise route and we cruised to Prior Lake. We went in formation Red/Black/Red/Black/Silver and even had an impromptu drag race. In Prior Lake, we had more conversations and a wrap up.

I enjoyed meeting every one and look forward to the next time!

It was good to put a face with the Handle Name! Lots of looks from passer-bys! We (3 groups) later met at "Subway" in Prior Lake. Heard the "Corsa's" Cat back exhaust, nice sound, no drone and owner claimed a 3 mpg increase in fuel mileage, Still my choice on exhaust systems! Next Sunday (9/24) some will meet and later go drag racing at "Rock Falls" Drag Strip near Eau Claire, WI. (Muscle Car Shoot Out) Another cruise would be great while sight seeing the fall colors. Great Time. Gene:D
