I recall someone talking a long time back about a West coast manufacturer looking at an Eaton or Roots style supercharger for the Jeep.
Does anyone know if this is still in the works?

Just recently, member "polidentgrip" started a very informative thread on turbos and forced induction, which included some info on roots style blowers...but for some reason it seems he has been banned and the thread removed
To answer your question, "polidentgrip" mentioned that XV Motorsports was in the proces of developing a twin screw supercharger for the 6.1. You can find the info HERE (http://www.xvmotorsports.com/engineering/engine_support.cfm#HEMITwinScrew). From what I've been told, they develop primarily for older cars, but "polidentgrip" mentioned he was talking with them about bringing it to market for the newer ones.

I wouldn't hold your breath. The XV site says Fall 2006.

Yeah i posted the info for XV Motorsports. I actually called them. They said that they are still developing the kit. They had to take some time off because of the tunning problem, but now have a few options with tunning for the supercharger kit. They also said that when it comes out that it would be in the lower $3k range for everything. This type of blower on these jeeps would be crazy. They procduce instant boost and lots of TQ down low. Look out 2.9 sec 0-60! LOL
Hope this helps, and I wouldn't hold my breath but keeping my fingers crossed.

We need someone to fab a kit based on a 2.8H KB or 2.9 Whipple. Why even bother with a small roots when you can have an appropriately sized twin screw.

I've been loking at the Magnuson kit for the Trailblazer SS and it seems like only a small development adjustment would make the lower fit to our heads.

Obviously there are fitments like wiring, sensors, injectors, fuel pressure/pumps etc etc etc. which need be addressed but the package should be pretty easy to customize from one lower intake to another.
I sent an email Friday to Magnuson but haven't heard anything from them yet.

That's something I'd pony up for.

I'm not looking to blow transmissions/ pistons and the like. something simple 5-6psi and 75-100hp would be fine. N20 is the best way to get that for $$$ but I hate the idea of running around to fill tanks all the time. Been there and done that. No more.

Don't even waste your time with a roots type blower. The twin screw design or centrifugal will produce the greatest amount of horsepower per psi.
